On my map there is one major problem, I think there would be too many zones to classify each by a single color, my current map, currently uses many colors, but most are repeated, I never thought to make a pattern though, I may work on a second map. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 02:08, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, That can work, I would like to maybe make a separate map for it, but not at the moment, I am really busy in the real world, today I have off of work, Ive actually been working on an artical on another subject. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 02:25, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to assist me, if you'd like

[edit]

I am going to be starting a new artical called Time in Antarctica, if you would like to contribute you may, but don't feel you are obligated to. :) – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 21:12, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my delayed responce, this has been a busy sunday for me, I woke up and immediately had to start writing an essay for school due in a few days, then at eleven I had work, I just got home, but I need to finish my essay, I will work on moving Time in Antarctica into artical space after I verify the accuracy of way is on there, I will also include a hue4 map after every time zone is listed, I will need to find a blank map of antarctica broke into zones, but without any pixelly fuzz, SVG will not work on my computer, I am limited to doing a PNG on Paint Pro. I will try to get back to the moving of the artical soon, but you are free to visit my userspace, I trust and give you permission, also I havnt had time to convert my global TZ map yet, but I will.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 00:34, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have now upgraded Time in Antarctica to be its own artical, It still requires expansion, but now you wont have to feel uncomfortable if you choose to help, have a nice day :) .– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 20:10, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Barnstar of Diligence
In your short time on this website you have already made a Signifigant difference on many time zone related pages, without even looking for it, your new and highly accurate maps I am finding everywhere, Keep up the Good Work. And Thank You for your help on my Time in Antarctica, it is very much appreciated. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 03:33, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.--Shirt58 (talk) 07:43, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

mexican time zones

[edit]

hi, i apreciate you for your excellent work updating timezone maps and dst schedule maps, but you committed a little mistake in this page: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/UTC%E2%88%9205:00

In Mexican time zones map, you put Sonora state like MST/MDT, but Sonora just uses MST, then it remains all year with UTC-7.

good luck with your work, cheers --Scoelho86 (talk) 09:49, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

[edit]

Thank You for recoloring my map , I know I've been putting it off again and again, this was a great surprise, work will still need to be done, I am going to start with North America Tonight on Re-typing the text to remove the leftover hue of the old colors, but great job! – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 01:59, 17 October 2011 (UTC).[reply]

I do have one request, I hope you can agree to it that we create a new map, File:Worldwide Time Zones (UTC hue4maps).png or a similar name, so I can keep my map the way it was, your map will become the new base, mine will fall into wikipedias history, I will aid you in the construction of it, but out of personal OCD, my map just needs to remain the same, I hope you take no offense, and understand. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 03:00, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have now transfered the information and removed the text to make it easier to update and work with, I will go back over it tommorrow, some of the boundries may have been accidntilly changed in the process, I already know there is a mitake on mongolia, but this is a good start. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 04:41, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TZ master, I noticed you posted File:UTC hue4map X world Robinson eng.png without the recent changes we worked on, First of the text, I removed the text from File:UTC hue4map X world Robinson.png with the intention to retype it latter, without the hue of the old colors surrounding the text, you have the colors of Australias time zones wrong, India is wrong, Iran is wrong, the azores are wrong as well as some parts of eastern canada, I suggest we finnish the file that has no text, improve its colors and retype, not paste, its text, and that map will be the one to post. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 18:15, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"we finish" - it will never be finished. I added a comment at: commons:File_talk:UTC_hue4map_X_world_Robinson_eng.png TZ master (talk) 18:34, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
TZ master I need to appologize, I have been feeling regret all day because my previous statement was not worded correctly, and came out more of an insult, I didnt understand at the time what your masterplan was, it all makes sense now, either way I should not have titles the section on your page Many Mistakes I should have simply requested we discuss a few of my concerns, I didnt think at the time that my comment was a step towards throwing our cooperative aquainenceship away, in a few weeks time we have exchanged barnstars, and worked together on multiple projects, and I didnt mean to taint the friendship, Sincerily – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 05:23, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was not the best feeling seeing the posting, :-) But if I make mistakes, I am happy people tell me. Best regards. TZ master (talk) 13:45, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Categories for discussion nomination of Category:Daylight saving time in the United Kingdom

[edit]

Category:Daylight saving time in the United Kingdom, which you created, has been nominated for discussion. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the Categories for discussion page. Thank you. Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 19:58, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify the reasons for this: I believe the category is far too narrow. Honestly, I hadn't considered laws etc which might have their own articles, but as far as I can tell all of those which are relevant are simply covered in the BST article. It may well fall under WP:SMALLCAT's "accepted sub-categorization scheme" exemption, but IMHO I would say that it is (currently) of too narrow a scope. If such articles are created in future, I can see such a cat being useful, but currently I don't see the need (especially when one of the included articles was about Western European DST in general). Incidentally, many of the other cats within the "sub-categorization scheme" also seem to be too narrow (Cube, Israel and Mexico), as they only link to a main page. Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 20:28, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. there is nothing to stop the BST page (and the Cuba, Israel and Mexico pages) from being included in the "by country" cat in the same way as "Daylight saving time in Bangladesh" is; they don't need to be in sub-cats. Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 20:31, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, looking at it again, it would seem I was a bit hasty with this (it's been a long day and I'm rather tired so acted without properly thinking it through; not really an excuse, but I apologise) and have withdrawn the nomination (the template remains since it cannot be removed until formally closed). I'm not sure about the inclusion of redirects in the cat but that's a separate issue, which I won't discuss now (again, tired etc) and is probably better off on the category talk anyway. Sorry about that. Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 20:58, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Help with numerous new pages being created by copy/paste from another. Thank you. ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 00:36, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Slow down please

[edit]

Hello, please slow down on your Time Zone creation. Many are simply copy and pastes from Daylight_saving_time_around_the_world and are duplicating content. This also loses the contribution history that shows who originally created those sections. Please join at the AN/I to discuss this. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 00:38, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Slow down you, you are abusing TW! Time in Portugal was not simply copy/paste and no duplication of content from the article time zones. TZ master (talk) 00:43, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I claimed that one was a duplication of existing content. The "Daylight Savings in..." are the copy/pastes. In that, you owe me an apology on AN/I for accusing me of actions that I did not commit. I clearly tagged Time in Portugal as "duplicate" and explained why. These other articles are both dupes and copy/pastes. ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 00:56, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I owe you nothing, you abusively tagged Time in Portugal. But you may tell me what I accused you of what you did not commit, CITE me, if you want to do that. TZ master (talk) 01:00, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It (your text) duplicated information already existing in map and text form on the time zone links for Portugal. THat's CSD A10. That is not abuse of Twinkle, which is where your false claim here is. On AN/I, it's that combined with denying copying and pasting articles, when (as you will see there) I've listed just a handful. Please cease copy/paste creation. Thus, your claim on AN/I was false as well. But, that's irrelevant. I really don't care about the apology. Instead, I'd hope you'd stop and work with us on understanding why you cannot do such things. I would gladly explain, but you seem uninterested in listening (I've already posted why at the top of this section, for instance). Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 01:04, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"It (your text) duplicated information already existing in map and text form on the time zone links for Portugal." How can a text exist in " time zone links " - what are " time zone links for Portugal " ? TZ master (talk) 01:07, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, good question. Maybe we are getting someplace? In the link I submitted with the CSD tagging, it lists Portugal and it's two time zones. Each time zone link goes to an additional page which references in text, and on a map showing the exact lines, in what time zones Portugal falls in. There was no further information on the page you created that wasn't covered there.

But... on to the other articles. You cannot start and finish articles by copy/paste. There are other tools available to do that. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 01:13, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote "Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Time in Portugal. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Time_zones." FACT IS: Time in Portugal contained content that is not in Time_zones. You are guilty. TZ master (talk) 01:20, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First, that message is a template. And, second, it is correct except for listing all the pages that contained the content. The TZ page, and the individual pages for the two zones. It doesnt say "Hey, this is exactly that" - it says "covers a topic which we already have a page for". Does that help? Stop being so defensive, and I'll help you understand where you went wrong. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 01:26, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't care whether it is a template if discussing it's message. You sent the message, you are responsible. FACT IS: Time in Portugal contained content that the page Time_zones will likely never contain thus - thus "a topic on which we already have a page - Time_zones" is not met. GO AWAY PLEASE. TZ master (talk) 01:40, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, join us on AN/I then. Before I go, as you are (now) cleaning up the dupes, I'll gladly remove the CSD templates if you would like. I'd suggest you work on one at a time though, that way there aren't word-for-word dupes. Would you like me to remove the CSD templates since you are removing the dupe information on the daylight savings time article? Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 01:56, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TZ master, you recently removed a deletion tag from Daylight saving time in Denmark. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 00:44, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.  Abhishek  Talk 13:45, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at UTC+01:30

[edit]

Hi TZ master, you recently removed a deletion tag from UTC+01:30. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 15:45, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with UTC+01:30. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 15:47, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did at UTC+01:30, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 15:48, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored. Please take note of the warning above. If you don't think it should be tagged, discuss with the editor who is tagging it. Alternatively, move the Namibia content to the existing article, and let this go. We don't need two articles on the same time zone Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:42, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK... this is getting ridiculous...

[edit]

Hi TZ. I've been away for a day and see a LOT of tagging of your work. Now that I see what you're trying to do, (which I fully support), I see this as getting out of hand and quite ridiculous. So, how can I help out? Anyway, on the Portugal article, I saw the information in map form on the UTC-01:00/UTC+00:00 pages. BUT, now that I see you're also trying to expand each one, I see no point in not having the article (hence I too asked Fastily to undelete it). I'm guessing this was part my mistake for not figuring out what you were doing, and part because you had so many you hadn't expanded yet.

But, that's irrelevant at this point - I'd like to move forward and see how I can help. So, if you want, I'll go through your list of contributions to these articles and start removing Speedy tags, and replace with underconstruction tags instead... or whatever else you think I can help you with. I've got a busy day today, but not quite as busy as I thought, so I'll be on Wikipedia off and on today and will help out how I can - if you wish the help. Much thanks for the barnstar. Not sure if I've quite earned it yet, but I will try. I've commented on the deletion discussion... are there others? If you want we can keep the conversation in one place here, or we can move to my talk page and continue it there. I've watchlisted your talk page, especially after noting all the speedies and such dumped onto it, so if we keep it here, I'll notice it. I want to keep an eye out for more speedy tagging (thus watching your page for such) so I can see what I can do to help. Best, ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 18:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
