re: Double

I agree — the indiscriminate capitalization of names by Japanese people (or companies) is annoying; and, so much so, that we have WP:MOS-JA#Capitalization of words in roman script which addresses WP:MOSCAPS and WP:MOSTM in the context of Japanese names. So, for Wikipedia, feel free to de-cap words, just like your personal song collection. Neier 15:09, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

To rename an article, there is a "move" tab at the top of the page beside the edit tab, etc. When it is finished, it automatically creates a redirect from the old name to the new name. In the move summary, I always put something like Remove stylistic capitalizaion, per [[WP:MOSCAPS]] and [[WP:MOSTM]].

Most of the time, the move tab works fine; but, occasionally, there may be an article or an older redirect at the new name, and you cannot complete the move (a red error message will appear). In that case you have to go to Requested Moves and ask an admin to take care of it. Capitalization fixes qualify as speedy moves, so, there is no need to go through the 5-day debate process on the article's talk page.

There is more help on moving pages at Help:Moving a page if I've left anything out. I'm glad that you'll be able to fix those pages which drive you nuts. :-) If you encounter any opposition, pointing to the pages I linked above should resolve any conflicts. Neier 22:05, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Image linking problem

{{helpme}} I'm having trouble adding an image link in an infobox.

See this page for an example. The link to the album cover (the same JPG as used in the article Seo In-Young) resolves to a page to add the image, rather than to Image:Inyoungalb.jpg.

I'm following the documentation for Template:Infobox Album, and patterned this off of the Hitori Yori Futari article, where the same syntax works fine.

Clues?

For the image size of the cover, it is not accepting 200px, so you just have to remove the 'Cover size' line. I have fixed it for you :) Have a nice day! E ^talk 07:11, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Castor oil

Thank you for your note about maintaining the quality of the Talk page for this article. I should probably just forget about this article since it is a relatively minor piece, but the conflict of interest, POV and belligerent stance of Castoroil101 with me and other contributors just won't let me go. yeah, those images justified right look nice too. I sort of like the band of images on the main page even though they have no names (they give a nice overview of the diverse population that has been a hallmark of the school), but will endeavor to distribute the images across the subordinate. i am headed into the M's of the alumni directory, but the eyes hurt (small print). i've started doing citation counts to weed the lightweights from the heavy scholars. it's a good exercise -- i had no idea harnish, bear, or tseng were punahou, even though they are my academic colleagues and i have their books and papers! i've even skipped their colloquia... but there will always be problems, such as jm chu who writes books and is a fulbright, but does not get cited. in the end, the 2-page alumni solution is good because everyone can aspire to the second page, but really only a few names belong on the front (and the correlation with individual wiki pages is not actually all that good! -- compare the commander of the 117th at normandy vs. a recent graduate who has a college filmmaking award -- the latter has a wiki page, but doesn't even make my 2nd alumni page). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.143.28.220 (talk) 22:59, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

I was thinking it is odd that there is no image of a double helix in the article....if Watson had not played a role in discovery of the double helix, he probably would have led an unremarkable life, we probably would not have heard of him and Wikipedia would not have an article about him. --JWSchmidt 23:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Not sure if you noticed in that article's talk page that I've been worrying away at Aboriginal knowledge economy/ intellectual property implications and ramifications of postings such as this - given the GFDL we agree to when making such entries.

Seeking you've been categorised, or have categorised yourself as a Wikipedia intellectual property lawyer, I was wondering if you might be able to lend comment, perhaps assist mitigate/mediate GFDL regarding traditional knowledge/indigenous intellectual property??

Vexatious litigation

I certainly understand why Leo Stoller is associated with "vexatious litigation", but that hardly qualifies as a category of person in List of Jewish American businesspeople. We have similar problems with people who are notable primarily for having been victims of crimes, or having committed crimes. Few people want to be classified as "victims" or "criminals", and if that becomes an official category anywhere on Wikipedia, people will want to add Bill Gates to "criminals" for his arrest for driving without a license. Sometimes it's safest to be least specific, unfortunately, and use "other". Anyway, thanks for keeping an eye on all this. Out of curiosity, have you met Stoller? Thanks, yes, I have some good refs for this article, and it would be easy to reference each and every one of the statements made in the article, but Wiki guidelines make it clear that one shouldn't reference every statement, but only those likely to be challenged. Excessive references don't add anything to articles but only clutter them up and are likely to irritate the reader and discourage him from checking Wiki references in future.

Since the provided references are fairly short, it's pretty easy to confirm any of the statements made in the article anyhow.
