Minor edits

[edit]

You removed a paragraph on La Francophonie, marking it as a minor edit. Wikipedia policy (Help:Minor edit) is that removal of text, especially contentious material, is not to be marked as minor. I hope that we can work together (on Talk:La Francophonie) to achieve a wording that all concerned find acceptable. Thanks! EdC 18:30, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

this paragraph is irrelevant & polemical and many editors want to delete it since a long time, but no one has removed it yet because most of the editors here are not neutral when it comes to french-related stuff. I'm sure that if that if a such paragraph was written against the British ot the American in a Brit-US related article it would had been deleted since a loooooong time! :) Message I 03:59, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi babe! saw your message on the talk page. Well, thanks anyway. I'm unblocked now. You'd better watch out and stay away from him or you'll be blocked without even knowing why. this guy is totally mental, pff! a mate from the irc he's now blocked for 24H for peanuts. the guy flamed him, so he answered him to fuck off and the other blocked him. well that's it, seems like this place is full of dicks! anyway, thank you again. Ninja Gaiden/Lair

[edit]

Hello there. Concerning your edit to Lair (video game), the convention is to only include demos when they're released in the EUR/AUS/USA/JPN PlayStation Stores, other ones aren't really relevant on the english-language wiki (the same rationale is used with release dates - only english language releases are to be included). Likewise, it wasn't appropriate to remove the Ninja Gaiden demo information just because it wasn't available in "all English-language territories", which, to the best of my knowledge, it is. Anyway, shout back if you've any questions. Thanks! Fin© 17:02, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Why is Hong Kong not included in your EUR/AUS/USA/JPN list. Hong Kong's official language is English unlike Japan which is Japanese. And where did you get the "EUR/AUS/USA/JPN-only" list please? Synchronicity I (talk) 17:06, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. I said it was "convention", the way things are done, I never said it was official policy. Hong Kong is not a major english-language video game region, to the best of my knowledge. India and Pakistan are english-language countries, but their releases aren't included either, as they're not major regions (for video games). Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. I've brought this up on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games anyway. Think it should be kept out, until there's some kind of consensus, and then permanently left in or taken out. Thanks! Fin© 18:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, there is no India/Pakistan version if i'm correct but there are HK versions (check the "Asia version" in import sites like PlayAsia), HK is more important than these two. And as far as i know Japan is not yet "a major english-language video game region". Synchronicity I (talk) 08:06, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Correct, Japan is not a major english-language game region, but it is big (the biggest?), definitely bigger than Europe. Why is HK more important than India and Pakistan? Fin© 08:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but European sales are much bigger than Japanese and almost equal or superior to NA. actually. Synchronicity I (talk) 08:22, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
sorry you mean "English language region"? most japanese games are in japanese only not in english. Synchronicity I (talk) 08:23, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake, a quick flick through the internet shows Japanese sales generally on par with Europe, if not slightly below. However, two of the three current-gen consoles were developed there, and when almost all the 1st party Nintendo, and some of the 1st party Sony games are developed there, along with developers such as Square Enix, Konami and Capcom, it makes sense to include Japan in some articles. It isn't an english-language region, all (nearly all) games are in Japanese. Fin© 08:32, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Japanese sales are not on par with Europe, compare the hardware sales in sites like VGchartz. currently Europe is growing as the biggest market, of course i'm not talking about game makers but game users. Synchronicity I (talk) 08:36, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And you'll see just above, I made that point. To say Japan isn't worth of inclusion because it has 6 million Wii sales, opposed to Europe's 9 million is just ridiculous. Also, if you want to argue to HK's notability as a videogame region, please show some stats about its sales figures. Might be a good idea to read this wikipedia article too. Thanks! Fin© 08:41, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As regards your accusation of vandalism - I didn't remove the section, I moved it. You can see here. Please be a bit more careful and assume good faith. Thanks! Fin© 08:47, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I don't understand your message on my talk page. I did not cheat or add false information, I simply moved a section and copy edited it. Thanks! Fin© 08:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is these are incorrrect informations. Using "development" instead of "Trial Version" is incorrect since the demo was released in the PS Store AFTER the game's actual release. And HK is not the only place to receive the demo since it was first released in South Korea. The very same demo. Synchronicity I (talk) 08:52, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way the demo build use the game patch. Synchronicity I (talk) 08:53, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated it to say Asia. You completely contradicted yourself there, you say it shouldn't be development as it came out after the game's release, but then you say the demo uses a patch. Isn't a patch still development? Thanks! Fin© 09:00, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Current rewriting is better. however i think the demo info fits the Update section rather than Development since it includes the patch. Synchronicity I (talk) 09:01, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There's no Update section. As regards Ninja Gaiden 2, from the WP:VG talk page, "If there was only one demo released for the game, then I believe it's notable regardless of where it was published. It would go in the Development or History section.". Which I took to mean one demo (in one region) would go into Dev/His, but multiple regions would have their own section. Fin© 09:05, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All right, just to point out SEA and South Korea are 2 different regions (markets). SEA is HK, Singapore and Taiwan. Check the PlayStation global site to figure it out. The demo uses multi-language (English, Chinese and Korean language) for that purpose. Synchronicity I (talk) 09:08, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Aquanauts_holiday_cover.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:39, 24 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 15:39, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
