Sunshine Tour most wins
[edit]I have moved Justin Hobday up the list, as he has 11 wins in official money events according to his tour profile. The summary boxes on the Sunshine Tour website only count wins from the 1993 season onwards.
I have my concerns about the list, since the Southern Africa Tour was not formed until 1967 (I think), and pre tour wins are evidently included in the official profiles. This would significantly reduce Gary Players total and eliminate the likes of Sid Brews completely. What are your thoughts? wjematherbigissue 23:20, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Prior to 1967, events were not organised into a formal tour. I get that year from here [1][2] and some other similar snippets. I am not sure of the exact details, and have not managed to find a source with regards the full history of the Sunshine/Southern Africa Tour. The South African PGA website offers some insight but no exact details [3]. Evidently the SA PGA ran the tour until the early 1990s when it became a separate entity – and the Southern Africa PGA Tour is the body that runs the tour now [4] (holding company/association similar to the PGA and European tours, I guess). We also know from the official Sunshine Tour site that it was rebranded as such at the start of the 2000/2001 season, having previously been known as the Southern Africa Tour, with the summer swing sponsored by FNB prior to 1995/96.
Another problem is, the profiles on the official site are not always complete and accurate, e.g. Denis Hutchinson won 3 SA Masters not 4, John Fourie has only 6 wins listed (highlights), Gary Player has several wins duplicated, etc.
WGC events, like the majors, do not count. wjematherbigissue 09:07, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:05pressun7.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:05pressun7.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 15:16, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Glenn Ralph
[edit]Could you please add some citations about those stats? Mainly the percentages and such. Thanks. Cliffsteinman (talk) 05:41, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Aside from that, I think that there may be a problem with the European Tour website as far as Ralph is concerned, in that he has been mixed up with Eddie Polland, who actually did win 2 Spanish Opens, the PGA Matchplay and the Penfold. Compare their pages: Ralph, Polland. I have made corrections using details from the Senior's Tour media guide. wjematherbigissue 09:45, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Juvic Pagunsan.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Juvic Pagunsan.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 16:53, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Do not revert me without comment, I am not a vandal. I cannot access that website, and so can see no evidence that the image is in the public domain. Could you please provide better sourcing or some evidence? J Milburn (talk) 10:15, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Can I ask why this has suddenly become your own work? Look, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and failing to do the same seriously damages the project, and will result in you being blocked from editing. Just "pretending" this image is free use is not acceptable. If it genuinely is, you're welcome to provide evidence, but trying to sneak it through like this is not good form. J Milburn (talk) 21:53, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Having looked through your uploads (see below), I see this is not the only image under a very dubious claim. Consider this your last warning- any more false claims, you will be blocked. J Milburn (talk) 21:59, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Blocked
[edit]Despite warnings above, you have continued to edit war over the source of images, changing author names so that you can license them as you wish, and have since uploaded an image that is clearly taken from elsewhere without anything close to an explanation about your suspicious behavior. It has become clear to me that you have no interest in following our policies on copyright, and so I have blocked your account. If you wish to appeal this block, you may do so using the {{unblock}} template. J Milburn (talk) 09:40, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Swat360! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Chris Williams (golfer) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Justin Hobday - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
