Business simulation
[edit]The main economic simulation game article has been renamed business simulation game. There were zero references describing economic simulations and their gameplay, but far more references describing business simulations. The references for business simulations were describing essentially the same games (Capitalism, the Tycoon games) so a rename seemed highly appropriate to save the article from itself. Unreferenced articles are at risk of deletion, particularly if they cannot assert that they are a notable subject covered by independent and reliable sources.
I edited most of the "economic simulation" articles to avoid a redirect. In most cases, I changed the link from "economic simulation" to "business simulation game". But in some cases, it was clear the game was misnamed from the start. In those cases, I directed them to a more appropriate genre. It's possible that I should have done that with Clonk (and a few other games). If it's inspired by The Settlers, that's a real-time strategy game where you manage resources and compete against other players. It's also possible that it's the more general category of construction and management simulation, which includes many single-player business simulation games and city-building games.
Be careful about relying too much on unreferenced articles since they can sometimes be original research. As logical or sensible as they seem, they're often just the intuitions of a few editors and not a concept that has been used with any consistency. Randomran (talk) 15:34, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hey thanks, no problem. I'm just trying to be helpful. The categories generally mimic the actual articles, and the problem is that the articles are in constant flux. Thanks for being flexible and understanding. Randomran (talk) 18:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
