Speedy deletion of "DJ Surge-N"

[edit]

A page you created, DJ Surge-N, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content, but does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Fumitol|talk|cont 15:12, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on DJ Surge-N requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Surge-N

[edit]

The below message is taken from the talk page in case the article is deleted before you can read it.

I don't have time to explain this in full detail right now but here it goes. Articles are always being improved but this article doesn't pass the threshold of inclusion. If we left all articles that were just created by people who didn't have time to finish them, Wikipedia would be a hodgepodge of articles with little information. For instance, because the article isn't over the threshold yet, at least 4 other editors have had to commit time to this article. If we leave it, how many more people will you create work for because you haven't completed the article. I suggest you work on it off of Wikipedia or in your user space until it's ready to be posted. I fully understand that. However I wasn't planning on leaving the article in the state it was when it was deleted. I didn't even get a chance to add on to the 'basics' because someone was too quick to delete it! If gradual improvements are to be made, they shall be made but I had to at least make a basic article giving reasonable information, but I didn't even get a chance to do that.

Regardless, I have reasonably created the article with links, references and all. And this will definitely be improved over time, I just hope no one decided to delete it again.

And I most certainly don't think this article is hodgepodge. It has already grown in the last four hours. But alas I need sleep now and shall have to continue it tomorrow. I hope I can wake up to it still being there!! Surge-N (talk) 17:28, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Surge-N[reply]

I have removed the speedy deletion tag from the article because I think there is a credible claim about the significance of the subject. It's still possible the article might be deleted, but you should have time to continue to improve it now. Thparkth (talk) 19:00, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: DJ Surge-N

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that DJ Surge-N meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DJ Surge-N. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Accounting4Taste:talk 19:37, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:2010 Logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:24, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:2010 Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:2010 Logo.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.surge-n.com/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Krinkle (talk) 21:38, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:SurgeNLogo.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused logo with no article used, it's also can't move to commons because of an unused logo will be deleted as of out of project scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
