World is flat quotes

[edit]

Hi, that information is hardly considered a controversy as much as an embarrassing comment. In the big scheme of things it hardly belongs in the View article and I'd be willing to bet that even if it's true that the Huffington post is not considered a great source. You may want to revert your edits and wait a day or two and see if any mainstream press actually cover the comment. Benjiboi 09:57, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I answered on my talk page to these concerns, so won't repeat those answers here, and just checked out the article seeing that those edits have already been reverted. I must agree as the version that was there misrepresented the nature and context of the conversation. I will also say that as it was I didn't understand what that text was getting at so its significance didn't register. Having now seen the conversation I think that it probably is important but also needs to be presented in a more encyclopedic manner. Benjiboi 19:25, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Hot and Cold (song)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Hot and Cold (song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Escape Cover Cropped.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Escape Cover Cropped.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template.
