About Covenant Christian Academy article

[edit]

Hi Supuhstar,

Thanks for your work on Covenant Christian Academy and thanks for participating in the Articles for Deletion discussion about it. I noticed the AfD discussion for the article and saw you had responded to a number of points in order to try to save the article. I sympathize with anyone trying to save an article from deletion. I also saw a lot of quote marks in the article before and after the text in most of the sections. Looking at the school's Web site, I see you copied and pasted much of the information into Wikipedia. I think the quote marks show you acted in good faith and didn't mean to violate a Wikipedia policy, but unfortunately, you did. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Spotting possible copyright violations.

It's OK to rewrite what you saw elsewhere, and it's OK to quote parts of it, but not nearly the amount you've got here. Some editor could easily report the page to the copyright notice board and delete almost all the text you've got there. Unless the text is rewritten, that's going to happen no matter what decision the deletion discussion comes up with.

Rather than just report it to the copyright notice board, I thought I'd leave a message with you so that you might have time to replace the copyrighted material (the vast majority of it, but not all of it) by rewriting. Unfortunately, now that you've got a deletion discussion, the article may not be kept anyway. Good luck. Noroton 03:03, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I was planning on adding to and deleting from the articles, but I was busy co-making Simpedia. I might redo it the right way some day, thanks to your info. Supuhstar * §

Thanks for uploading Image:CCA Cougar.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:20, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
