==Speedy deletion nomination of Sam Anderson (Tamil actor)==

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Sam Anderson (Tamil actor), to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Pradeeban (talk) 10:01, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your efforts to keep Wikipedia clean, but the page was originally in no way inappropriate, and was created as an informational page on a notable person in Tamil cinema. I see that the page was in a bad state when you tagged it for CSD, but those changes were vandalisms, have been reverted, and more info has been added to the page. In any case, I believe it did not and does not meet any criteria for speedy deletion, and humbly request you to exercise more care while using that feature.
If you are still concerned about the quality of any part of the article, please feel free to edit and improve it in any way you see fit.
SundaraRaman (talk) 20:05, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your effort in improving. But please do NOT remove the tags yourself, without a discussion. The Speedy delete tag was inappropriate, but the delete tag is still valid. Pls discuss further in http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Sam_Anderson_%28Tamil_actor%29 and let some administrator take the final decision. Editors themselves can't remove deletion tags themselves. This slims down the chances of the article being improved. Hope you understand that. And Happy New Year 2012, by the way. Pradeeban (talk) 20:56, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation, but I removed the tag only because its own text stated "You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason." It also states that "If this template is removed, it should not be replaced." I believe these are due to the fact that PROD is supposed to be used only for articles that are "uncontroversially" deletion candidates, as stated in WP:PROD. The appropriate tag to use now would be WP:XFD.
Thanks for the wishes, wish you a happy new year too.

Thanks for looking into this. I was under the impression that the article was created as an attack-attempt on that actor. I was wrong, and you are contributing to Wikipedia positively. I understand the tags - and removed it, since you are maintaining the page and improving, addressing the concerns. By the way, there were a bunch of editors using the page as a mean to insult/attack that actor/director. Hope you will keep an eye for such edits. Hi. When you recently edited Sam Anderson (Tamil actor), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:55, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sam Anderson (Tamil actor) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:53, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
