[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions, including your edits to William Connolley. However, please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not be libelous. Any controversial statements about a living person added to an article, or any other Wikipedia page, must include proper sources. Thank you.

Specifically, Wikipedia projectspace pages are not appropriate sources for other Wikipedia articles, particularly not for biographies. While I'm here, do you happen to have any other Wikipedia accounts? MastCell Talk 04:17, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to William Connolley. Thank you. MastCell Talk 04:27, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is not poorly referenced. It is an action that was taken, and thus represents a bold edit that improves the article. Summer's Eve (talk) 04:28, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is inappropriately referenced, according to the relevant Wikipedia policy, which you are again encouraged to read. Boldness is a reasonable rationale for making an edit, but not for continuing to edit-war to reinsert material which violates this site's fundamental policies. I am going to need to pull rank on you here, and invoke WP:IAR. Summer's Eve (talk) 04:36, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
WP:IAR is generally useful when one's actions are clearly undertaken with the encyclopedia's benefit in mind. It's less useful as a fig leaf for a sockpuppet harassing a contributor while he's down in furtherance of a personal agenda. I guess it depends on which category you see yourself in. I'm not the one who abused my adminstrator priviliges and engaged in an edit war. You will need to take that up with the subject of the article. Summer's Eve (talk) 04:46, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's not really a response to the concerns I've raised. I missed your response to the question about your primary account, if you'd care to make one. MastCell Talk 04:53, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. MastCell Talk 05:11, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
