Album article formatting

[edit]

Hi. Please see the album style guide: WP:MOSALBUM for better album article formatting. I changed a few things in the 2 EP articles you created.

  • "Tracks" is supposed to be "Track listing"
  • The second genre listed usually does not get capitalized unless it's a proper noun ["Americana"].
  • You forgot to add a reflist to both articles.
  • Please don't include the "th" on dates, like "February 25th". Just put "February 25"

thanks --Jennica / talk 01:49, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. The article Vertigen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable. Also has lyrics on it which must be violating some kind of copyright rule

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Tommy Four Seven

[edit]

Hello Sullay,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tommy Four Seven for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Album article formatting

[edit]

Please see WP:MOSALBUM on how to properly format an album article. 'Tracks' header should be 'Track listing' and dates should not be formatted with 'th' like 'October 20th' and so on. October 20 is best. thanks. --Jennica / talk 00:27, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Kumoukset ovat yleensä aiheellisia" - eipä sittenkään

[edit]

Hei, nyt pitäisi päättää, onko fi-wikin artikkelissa Tšerdekaisi venäläinen nimi Тшердекайсин vai (kuten lähteessä esitetty) Чердекайси. Google-haku ainakin on selvästi Тшердекайсин-nimen, siis n:ään päättyvän, puolella.
Lisäksi, "sokeakin" huomaa, että hiippakuntakartta artikkeleissa Suomen ortodoksinen kirkko, Karjalan hiippakunta, Oulun ortodoksinen hiippakunta (, jossa neljä seurakuntaa eikä viisi, kuten kartassa) ja Helsingin ortodoksinen hiippakunta on vanhentunut. Lähde on sama kuin artikkelissa Kiuruveden ortodoksinen seurakunta, jonka aivan oikein on annettu olla rauhassa ilman muokkaussotaa. Kiuruveden ort. seurakunnan yhdistyminen vuonna 2016 pitäisi huomioida myös artikkelissa Iisalmen ortodoksinen seurakunta.

Englanninkielinen käyttäjäsivuni englanninkielisen Wikipedian ongelmille, suomenkielinen käyttäjäsivuni suomenkielisen Wikipedian ongelmille, kiitos. –Sullay (talk) 21:07, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about The Sad But True Story of Ray Mingus

[edit]

Hello, Sullay,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether The Sad But True Story of Ray Mingus should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Sad But True Story of Ray Mingus .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Steve Quinn (talk) 05:37, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Population density

[edit]

Some recent edits have a problem because the infobox is rather dumb. It should probably be fixed, but meanwhile a few articles are displaying an error. For example, if you click edit at British Cyprus then preview (without making any changes), then scroll down you will see a big error message at population density. I think the problem is that pure numbers are required for stat_area1 and stat_pop1—no comma and no reference. I'll look at what needs to be done later if needed, but I thought I would let you know about the issue. Johnuniq (talk) 22:23, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this seems to be very bizarre. It should be a lot easier as the instructions are more or less complex as well. Thanks a bunch for helping me with this, Johnuniq! --Sullay (talk) 22:27, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed the errors in several articles by using an example from the documentation for {{Infobox former country}} for the footnotes parameter. However, there is a problem at Colony of Aden. That article says the area is 192 km2 in two places. The first shows 74 square miles, and the second shows 75—some rounding confusion. The source says Aden had an area of 10.387 square miles. That looks like a typo to me. It's not likely to be 10,387 sq mi (ten thousand), but ten is also unlikely. You might like to rethink your edit. By the way, the infobox gives an error when a value for area or population has a reference, if both the area and population are given. When both are given, the infobox attempts to calculate the population density and the reference causes that calculation to fail. Johnuniq (talk) 04:31, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I tried my best not to copy the information word by word. Diannaa, how could I use the information from The British Empire and use it here without it being considered copyrighted content? Regards, Sullay (Let's talk about it) 18:20, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Content has to be written in your own words and not include any wording from the source material. One thing I find that works for me is to read over the source material and then pretend I am verbally describing the topic to a friend in my own words. Stuff should also be presented in a different order where possible. Summarize rather than paraphrase. This will typically result in your version being much shorter than the source document. There's some reading material on this topic at Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing and/or have a look at the material at Purdue or study this module aimed at WikiEd students. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:22, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm DrKay. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Sierra Leone (Commonwealth realm), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so!
