NFL template

I have been doing quite a bit for the upcoming Steelers season article and trying to come up with ways of improving its style from past seasons. I have also been involved in updating the info for the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals and prior to that the playoffs. While doing so I have come to admire the Template:NHLPlayoffs which I see you have contributed to a great deal. I would like to develop a template which can be used for individual games throughout the NFL season, similar to the one used for the Stanley Cup:

May 24 Detroit Red Wings 4 – 0 Pittsburgh Penguins Joe Louis Arena Recap

However, I would also like to include a drop down feature, as is used for the NHL playoff series, in which a scoring summary could be input. Thereby, including all of the info already shown in the weekly recaps, and saving space (and simply making it look nicer) in the process. The reason that I'm telling you all of this is because I have the time, but not the knowledge, to go about creating such a template. Judging by your work on the NHL template, you do hold the knowledge to develop what I'm looking for. I would be glad to work with you (and anyone else who may want to jump in) in creating this template. If you don't have the time or desire to work on this, is there anywhere that I could learn to make one myself (a tutorial of sorts)? Thank You! Blackngold29 07:25, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be quite willing to create such a template, and I think I will start work on such a template that could be used for all NFL games in about a week. I am currently preoccupied with final exams, so I will not be until one week from now. Additionally, I just wanted to clear up the intent of the template you are thinking about generating. Is is supposed to be an extended summary of information in the table located here, or is it supposed to summarize everything here? I can also help you out a little on learning if you would like, but once again, I will not really be able to devote myself heavily enough in either case until one week from now. Thanks. It would be the second one so one could be placed in for each game (as in 2008 Stanley Cup Finals). Basically to include the time, weather, ref; but in addition a scoring recap divided by quarters. The NHL one has each period, who scored, what time the goal was scored at; only this one would be something like "TD - Bob Smith (10:02) Extra point kicker's last name". I'll keep your talk page on my watchlist, so you can either leave a messege here or on mine when you're ready to go. Thanks! Blackngold29 16:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I got a chance to put together a rough result of what I had in mind. Everything from "Points by Quarter" and below would be under the Show/Hide option. Hope this helps to clarify what I mean. We got plenty of time until the season starts, so whenever your ready. Thanks! Blackngold29 23:38, 8 June 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Hey dude, are you still interested? Let me know. Thanks! Blackngold29 17:49, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
