User talk:Suhaspr
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Suhaspr, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was S. Rudregowda, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- @EasyAsPai Thanks for the message. Since I'm new to Wikipedia editing, would you please let me know how the edits to S Rudregouda page which belongs to a topic for which I have a conflict of interest?
- He is one of the very successful industrialists in Shimoga and I'm trying to share details about him to the world through wikipedia and I hope it's allowed. Suhaspr (talk) 18:18, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! I appreciate your reaching out.
- Honestly, your editing seemed promotional enough that I thought you might have a conflict of interest related to S Rudregowda himself. If you don't, then you need to carefully read WP:RS and WP:BLP before you edit his page again - your edits were entirely without reliable sources, and did not match the tone expected in a BLP article. EasyAsPai (talk) 19:11, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- @EasyAsPai I understand your point. The content which I have edited is based on the book (Shri S Rudregouda - The Iron Man) released recently about him on his Entrepreneurial and political journey which can inspire youngsters who want to start something on their own.
- Could you please highlight the portion of text which seemed promotional or in a tone which is not expected in a BLP article. I will try to rectify it and submit it for review.
- Thanks in advance Suhaspr (talk) 21:30, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not going to go through it line by line, because it's pretty much all promotional, but I will give you some examples. If you have broader questions on how to write about someone in a neutral tone, you might ask at the Teahouse. Also, I'm not sure who wrote the book you're using for reference, but you do need to actually put the source in the article to cite your edits, per WP:CITE.
- Problematic phrases:
- Visionary Technocrat, an Indian politician and a Humble Humanitarian
- He was successful in setting up multiple industries in Shimoga district and provided employment to thousands of local talent. He is often referred as `Amrutamayi` for his simple and humble human values.
- embarked on an unimaginable journey of success to be achieved
- All this was possible due to his vision of industrial development and employment creation. EasyAsPai (talk) 21:46, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- @EasyAsPai Understood. Thanks for the clarification I will rephrase the edit, create a User Space draft page and submit it for review. Suhaspr (talk) 04:49, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- @DoubleGrazing How can I make an edit to an existing article and submit for review as I couldn't see that option while publishing? Suhaspr (talk) 10:56, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- There is no such option. The AfC review process is only for new drafts which have not yet been published. Existing articles are edited 'live', meaning you make an edit, and when you hit 'publish', the edit gets saved in the published article in real time.
- However, do not attempt to make the edit that you were indicating in your draft, it was promotional and almost entirely unreferenced. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:06, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
