Proposed deletion of John Matisonn[edit]

The article John Matisonn has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. John Matisonn[edit]

Hello Sugar Activism. I saw your message on my talk page. I'll be happy to keep an eye on the article and fix any problems or formatting errors, but I don't plan to expand it further as I'm very busy with other projects. If you decide to expand it further, please keep in mind three things:

It must not be used to promote his forthcoming book. The book should only be mentioned once it has actually been published and you can reference it to an independent review.

As this is a biography of a living person, all additional biographical information you add, must be referenced to a published source. That is absolutely key and why your original article was initially proposed for deletion. We cannot use "personal knowledge" or unpublished interviews as sources.

If you have a personal, professional, or business afiliation (of any kind) to Matisonn, you need to read this page for guidance when editing under those circumstances.

PS I think you may have problems with the image you uploaded. If you are not the photographer, you must provide documentation from the holder of the copyright that they are releasing it under a free license. I doubt if Matison is the photographer, since he is the subject of the photograph, and even if does own the copyright, he must provide written documentation that he is releasing it under a free license. Plus, that image is already posted on his Twitter page. Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission has more about this, but it's a fairly complicated process. Me again. I just removed personal commentary opinion which you had added to the article, and note that you must supply a published source for the "full pardon". Given your edit summary here, I strongly suggest that you read the guidance page I linked above concerning a conflict of interest and that Mr. Matisonn read the guidelines at Wikipedia:Autobiography. Well done for adding the connected contributor template!. I fixed the formatting for you. I also removed your real name, as the template works only with your Wikipedia username (no additions). However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia.
