Hi there SIF, AL "here",
i now tried to reach a compromise between your edits and mine, but please bear in mind: 1 - there is a difference between a competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League) and a season of that competition (i.e. 2012-13 UEFA Champions League), we have to differentiate; 2 - the club is NEVER known as Athletic Club OK, it's Athletic Bilbao, simple and plain; 3 - once the competition has been named and properly linked once, no need to be referring to it all the time (and "the domestic Copa del Rey" like you now wrote is an overstatement so to speak).
Don't want to reply (don't know why but that's OK) fair enough, but please "help" me out on this one. Thanks, happy editing --AL (talk) 15:19, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- Please read this and the subsequent reply to my page, my edit was 100% accurate (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Mattythewhite#PC_.22updates.22_.2F_Technicalities). --AL (talk) 16:58, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
I tottaly understand your approach, but i don't think you read the exchange i had with User:Mattythewhite thoroughly: in SPAIN/ITALY/GERMANY, unlike FRANCE/PORTUGAL where there are two cup competitions, we can say "Spanish/Italian/German Cup" or "domestic cup", no confusion for the reader; you have to be even more careful in ENGLAND of course, they have several cup competitions.
Happy weekend --AL (talk) 17:55, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kim Källström, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Linesman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

- Regarding this player: 1 - i repeat, the club is not called ATHLETIC CLUB, it's called ATHLETIC BILBAO OK? 2 - we are not encouraged to write, in the storyline, "he currently has 13 goals (or 15 assists or whatever the case may be)".
Thank you --AL (talk) 12:47, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- Fail to understand the aggressiveness, what did i do to you? Also, we seem to be engaged in an edit war that may result in both of us getting blocked, can't we reach a compromise? For example, the last reference is from UEFA.com not FIFA.com, also i added the correct match report instead of just team lineups, i correct that and you revert me, lost for words.
More: 1 - "Estadio" is a SPANISH word, but if you want to have the name of the ground fully displayed, then unpipe "Stadium" but please don't write "Estadio" again; 2 - the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League was overlinked and i fixed it, you reverted me; 3 - we can keep the assist reference/storyline, if he makes more than 13 in the two rounds remaining, we'll just have to correct it. Sounds fine to you? --AL (talk) 14:48, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
I APOLOGIZE for removing the The Daily Telegraph reference, i thought it was needless because we already had two refs for the FC Barcelona game, but that new you added clearly shows it was his first CL goal, i have reinstated it. More for my corrections: we don't need to say "ITALY U21" (just ITALY, because if the SPANISH U21s played ITALY in the UNDER-21 championships, of course it was the UNDER-21s from Italy they played). --AL (talk) 15:06, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- More apologies (and i have thus reinstated your approach): in due references, i have already replaced the "publisher" with the "work" format. --AL (talk) 15:13, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
No, i don't have any preference as to the naming of the stadia, but i repeat, Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is the name of the WP article, like Mestalla Stadium for example (or like the clubs discussion we had above, yes i am fully aware Athletic Bilbao is sometimes known as Athletic Club, but the name of the WP article is what "beats" all everytime. Why grounds like Estádio da Luz have not been duly moved i have no idea.
Last but not least, for clarification purposes: i sometimes write caps to stress a particular word, not to shout, i only speak down to vandals, not well-intended users such as yourself, sorry if the misunderstanding left you feeling offended, never my intention. That said, i admit some of my summaries leave something to be desired and can DEFINITELY lead to reaction from the other part.
Regards from Portugal --AL (talk) 15:24, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- I'll clean it up in the next hour (using all your suggestions - but you don't have to say LA LIGA or COPA all the time, i stress this again like i said about Jesé, LEAGUE or SPANISH/DOMESTIC CUP suffice), then tip you when i'm done to see what you think of it. Later! --AL (talk) 12:37, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
My main reasoning for some wording that may seem out of place is that (for instance) i don't see the point in using the phrase "he scored" three times in the same sentence, i like for the language to be more "colourful" without engaging in POV or BLP violations. --AL (talk) 12:48, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Done! 1 - check; 2 - check; 3 - check; 4 - check, all of them, but i removed the word "final" in the U-21 tournament because i thought it was implied the game against Italy was in the final as it was already written Spain went all the way. I have since reinstated it; 5 - check, but see above again (i never wrote those words to "insult English ears", i was just trying to use different forms of the same verb(s), and i see that it is often allowed, even in articles with a very good number of watchers, so i thought i was doing no wrong); 6 - check, but: i agree his seventh goal of the season does not amount to much, but certainly his 48 official appearances do when he was 20 - speaking of compromises, removed the "seventh goal" bit, left the "48 appearances" one without the (i agree) superpoetic "came of age", can you accommodate? 7 - check.
Addressing the creation of a STYLE OF PLAY section, we are not that encouraged to do that at WP from what i know, but i don't own the article i'm just "dropping" an opinion. I was not able to use any of those refs you sent me to further source his "skills storyline" because the wording is of 2012-13, all those sources are from 2013-14.
Again, if you wish to make further amendments to your suggestions for feeling i got the message wrong here or there go right ahead, i don't own the articles here (but i admit that my intense wikipassion sure makes it look like i think i do!), i'll leave the article in peace at least until the weekend passes to avoid edit conflits.
Regards, happy weekend --AL (talk) 13:17, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

Tips
[edit]Hi there SIF, AL "here",
two tips before i leave forever (25 days to go more or less), per User:Mattythewhite (and WP:FOOTY community i believe, haven't been a member in two years)'s approach and taking Koke (footballer, born 1992) as an example: 1 - YES you can say "qualifier", even though you told me it was not correct English, i asked Matty he told me it is correct; 2 - we are as of now discouraged from writing the division where a club operates in intro (on the grounds it will have to be updated always), so Koke's intro must read "...is a Spanish footballer who plays for Atlético Madrid as a midfielder", period.
Glad i could be of help (if i was), message me back if you have any questions in these days that remain for me. Cheers --AL (talk) 23:15, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
