Ray Comfort page
Hello Sue,
There is a popular misperception about Mr. Comfort in terms of his banana "argument". (People believe he was setting forth a lame, uninformed, idiotic argument on his television program when in reality he was only repeating statements he had previously said on stage for laughs.) A sentence in the article perpetuates the incorrect sentiment, and I just wanted to change that by having it tell the whole story.
The external link I tried to supply (as a reference) along with my edit substantiates everything I am saying.
If it's worth noting: I'm not a regular contributor/editor by any means, so I was confused about how to put in a citation and properly add a reference, formatted correctly.
(My proposed changes: ...in one of his tongue-in-cheek sermon jokes (mistakenly seen as an actual argument for the existence of God)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2vj3T485Vc)
Thanks for your oversight and any help you can provide. Birdy29 (talk) 07:26, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
At least perform an investigation before reverting.
Hi Sue,
reverting my edit so quickly with a generic revert notice has me questioning whether you read and understood my justification in the edit notes. As far as I can tell you're using automated systems to revert incidental edits without actually looking at the context of the edit within the article. In my case, a simple read through of the article (which I had done) would show that notable glitches and problems are well-described in the article body itself, making a separate page section tacked on to the bottom with a single unreferenced and poorly written entry superfluous. If there was a reference I would have left it, but the phrase itself is clearly just someone's commentary on a particular technical issue. It's a shame your tools didn't pick up THAT edit instead of my removal of it. 124.170.101.250 (talk) 04:29, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have no idea what edit you might be referring to, could you link please? I am human and make mistakes, and if that's the case, I'd like to undo whatever it was you are saying I did.--Sue Rangell[citation needed] 04:32, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Sue, Dani Guiza is only rumoured to be playing for johor, as off this second he is a Getafe player, hence the constant correction on my part.thanks!
Moved from Above
Hi Sue, i agree with the above user, in that you have tagged/reported me for "vandalism", because Michael Bloomburg "Resides" in a tax-haven, and because i mentioned his tax-report to the Inland Revenue Service? I find you and Jethrobot may be in contact outside of wiki, in collusion to censor factual data entry into wikipedia. Please do not continue to "join the club" when it comes to participating in censor of PUBLIC INTEREST DISCLOSURE, such as Bloombergs Asian media company, and his tax-haven residences.
Sue, you have improperly flagged/tagged/reported me for editing Michael Bloomberg, with regards to TAX and Asia. Your actions (i dont know if its automated or if you phisically do these things) are deplorable and surely not constructive. Perhaps you should IMPROVE an article rather than censor other entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.37.133.218 (talk • contribs) 23:33, 4 November 2012
- (talk page stalker)Despite whatever you might believe, We are not a bunch of mean ol' editors out to get you, but you can continue to think that way if you want to. Also, have you considered the possibility that you might be wrong? I mean, we have repeatedly pointed out to you that you need to source your content. Yes, the company is real. Your claims about what Bloomberg was doing are not, because no source says so. Also, there's no source that says that Bermuda is his residence, only that he owns property there. Please stop adding original research to articles, because it's particularly hazardous for articles on living persons. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 05:42, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Dear Sue, i do not believe that you are old at all! However, Bloomberg does indeed "reside" in Bermuda, next door to Silvio Berlusconi. There is ample evidence for this FACT. Also, for Jethrobot to suggest that Bloomberg Direct "does not seem to exist" is surely evidence of ignorance of FACT, because amongst Reuters, AP, WSJ, Bloomburg Direct is in the top 5 of global financial data "services". But you knew that too.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.37.133.218 (talk • contribs) 23:52, 4 November 2012
- (talk page stalker) The above commenter is not Sue. It's me, Jethro. The fact the company exists or that his residence exists is not in dispute (however, there was a spelling error on your initial edits that made me think otherwise at first about the company). However, you are not following a neutral point of view by attempting to make unsourced claims about motives or other extrapolations about known facts. Reversion of Saudi Arabia Driving Age
Hi Sue Rangell/Archives/Sunday 11th of November 2012 12:06:59 PM, Your recent reversion of my modification to the driving age in Saudi Arabia was misguided. Visiting the source link indicates that the driving age is 25, and not 29 as is currently indicated. 75.156.9.228 (talk) 23:05, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Licavoli Family hoax
You didn't check the sources, did you?
Licavoli Crime Family is a hoax that has already been deleted under the title Licavoli Mob. I'm assuming it lasted as long as it did because of confusion with the legitimate Cleveland crime family, controlled by mobsters with the name Licavoli.
Just figured I should let you know. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 20:05, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Sue! You recently undid one of my recent contributions to RockLive and I was wondering which edit it was and why? I updated the RockLive logo to match their recently updated LinkedIn page, but now that is gone as well as the contribution I made about their latest game "Play Blackjack". All of the info was factual info and correct according to RockLive's public info. Please get back to me on my talk page. Thank you. Urfavoritemija (talk) 17:01, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

IP Block Exemption
Sue Rangell/Archives (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am not presently blocked. Requesting an IP block exemption, because I was suprised to find that I did not already have this. There was an incident a few years ago where the IP was blocked due to no fault of mine, and I thought that the IP Block Exemption had been applied at that time. I have been a very responsible editor since 2007. Sue Rangell[citation needed] 20:50, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- If this happens so rarely, WP:IPBE is not usually provided. Could you actually post the message you see when you try to edit so that it can be looked into? (✉→BWilkins←✎) 21:36, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
- I have no trouble editing, so there is no message. I am, however in a situation where I could be inadvertantly blocked, as has happened in the past, and so I thought it prudent to request the exemption as a pre-emptive to any trouble that may come, rather than closing the barn door after the horse has already run off. Obviously there has already been one incident, and I am pretty sure that I have demonstrated very responsible behavior since I joined wikipedia in 2007. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 21:42, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

Lindt & Sprüngli edit
Despite your assertion that my correction was not constructive, it is a matter of fact that macarons and macaroons are two entirely different and unrelated confections that people commonly confuse. The article does in fact refer to macarons rather than macaroons. I believe it should be handled just as any other factual confusion and that my correction should stand.

Catherine I of Russia Edit
Hi Sue! You recently undid one of my recent contributions to Catherine I of Russia and I was wondering why? I added a legacy page, but now that is gone. All of the info was factual according to the history magazines such as 1- The article by Ziya Sakir, from the April 1950 issue of "Resimli Tarih Mecmuasi," or "Illustrated History Magazine." in Turkey. 2- You can find the story here also: http://www.tallarmeniantale.com/catherine-the-great.htm You can even find large discussions between historicians about this story in youtube 3- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xo8JdutdL0 4- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxfNq6eoi_E
The thing is that this topic has been controversial for 300 years between the historicians and this legacy of Catherine I of Russia should be known. Please, put my edit again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.12.214.11 (talk) 05:00, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but the content is unsourced. As you can see, others feel the same way. I am sure that if you can provide some sources for the content (and it is a massive amount of unsourced content) that you will find less resistance. I should also warn you at this point that there is a Shining Line, (see WP:3RR), which I suggest you contemplate. I have edited the article once, that will be enough for me, looking at how the heat is turning up, sorry. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 05:09, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Well , 1- the first source is the current Catherine I of Russia information: In the part 'Marriage and Family Life' there are these sentences: "Catherine continued to accompany Peter on his Pruth Campaign in 1711. There Catherine was said to have saved Peter and his Empire, as related by Voltaire in his book Peter the Great. Surrounded by overwhelming numbers of Turkish troops, Catherine suggested before surrendering, that her jewels and those of the other women be used in an effort to bribe the Grand Vizier Baltaji into allowing a retreat. Baltaji allowed the retreat, whether motivated by the bribe or considerations of trade and diplomacy. In any case Peter credited Catherine and proceeded to marry her again (this time officially) at Saint Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg on 9 February 1712. " Clearly, she helps her husband and gave a bribe. When this is successful, they marry. 2- The second source is the current page 'Baltacı Mehmet Pasha'. In the subsection 'From Istanbul to Lemnos', it is said that "He was accused of accepting a bribe from Catherine I of Russia and was dismissed from his post in 20 November 1711. Baltacı was exiled to the islands of Lesbos (Midilli) and later Lemnos (Limni), where he died the next year (July 1712)."
So, basically the story that the queen goes to Baltaji and gave him a bribe to convince him to sign a treaty is written in the current wiki pages. Even, after this thing, the information that the queen is marrying and Baltaji is exiled is again given in current wikipedia pages. The rest is just opening a subsection 'Legacy' and tell this event in story. And, I have done this according to the article by Ziya Sakir, from the April 1950 issue of "Resimli Tarih Mecmuasi," or "Illustrated History Magazine." in Turkey. It is a Turkish article, but you can find its content in english in this page : http://www.tallarmeniantale.com/catherine-the-great.htm So, I alreadt provided the sources. I don't understand for which part I should provide a source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.12.214.11 (talk) 05:25, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

- After a bit of research, I see that at some points there were as many as five or six edits taking place almost simultaneously. That can confuse vandalism tools like Huggle, especially when you have more than one patroller trying to revert. Two quick legit edits, two vandalisms, and two patrollers reverting can make a mess of things. I will whitelist your edits on Huggle. That should help a little. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 22:36, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Sabado gigante edit reverting
You reverted my edit to sabado gigante. You should know that the correct translation of La Cámara Viajera is not "the travelling film" but rather "The travelling camera", as i wrote. A quick Google search will verify this for you. Hopefully, you find having the listed translation be correct, less "not helpful" this time around.
- Could you sign please? I reverted it because Sabado Gigante is a favorite show of mine, and I speak Spanish fluently. If you ever watch the subtitles of the show, you will see it translated as "The Travelling Film". Yes, it is true that when literally translated, it becomes "Travelling Camera", but the spirit of the translation is "film" and that is how the production company translates it themselves. I will not revert it again, because it's such a minor detail, but I will encourage you to investigate this for yourself, and then edit as you see fit. Happy editing! --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 01:43, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello Sue,
Thank you for your thoughts! I'm a bit confused as to why you reverted my edit on the "Peer to Peer lending" article? I'm a bit new here at Wikipedia, so please bear with me if I made a mistake. I wanted to update Lending Club and Prosper's loan volume to be more up to date, as the last time this sentence was updated was 2 months ago, in August 2012. I wanted to put in the latest info for everyone. Was this not correct?

Dolmus/Share Taxi Edit Explination
Hello Sue, I'm a bit disappointed that you undid my change in the dolmus-share taxi section, reverting "visitors to Turkey" back to "Westerners". Please allow me to explain my chance: first, the original article cited made no explicit distinction between the "West" and "East", therefore reflecting a subjective notion on the part of whomever cited this article. Additionally, many Turkish people (myself included) consider Turkey to be an European country with a Western lifestyle and culture. Therefore, writing "Westerners may be surprised by the dolmus" implies an unfair dichotomy that implies Turkey to be an "Eastern" country - whether Turkey is "Eastern" or "Western" is not the point of the article, but I don't think it's constructive to unnecessarily introduce this "East-West" dichotomy. It is also not entirely accurate; surely a Japanese or Taiwanese tourist may also be surprised by the speed of a dolmus, even though they are not from a "Western" country. Therefore, I believe my change of "visitors to Turkey may be surprised at the speed of the dolmus" to be better worded version from the original. I hope you can consider my points and reinstate the change, thanks very much.
You reintroduced some vandalism with your recent edit to Keith Urban; Please exercise additional caution when considering an undo of someone else's countervandalism, such as the reverts done by Cluebot. Dl2000 (talk) 02:17, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Game of thrones vote on origin
Sand stein is intent on engaging in an edit war on the game of thrones "origin of show in lead" issue. This issue is black and white when it comes to consistency. Dr who has it. Harry potter has it. - Thanks for letting the oversight team know. I've revision-deleted the text now, per policy - Alison ❤ 00:51, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- I think we did good work here. With the oversight team on top of things Im sure it's in good hands. revision-deleting was a good idea per WP:BLP and as always, better to be safe than sorry. I could see where Rotten regard was coming from, but I just wasn't comfortable wiping an entire page like that. I'm glad we have oversight stepping in. It's good to meet you btw, Alison! --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 00:57, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- Yep - thanks, everyone :) I understand your concern, Sue, as it looks somewhat like censorship of some sort, but WP:BLP is paramount and unsourced accusations of the sort that were being repeated there, are unacceptable. It's perfectly okay to revdel them :) And good to meet you, too!! - Alison ❤ 17:08, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

Captain Joe Jackson
Hello Sue,
You recently changed my page called Captain Joe Jackson. I made that change so it would not be deleted. It was very productive and it made a lot of sense. I am going to change it back to the way it was so please do not in any way change that page again.

- No worries, I have white-listed it. be well. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 21:14, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
my edits to johnny damon
my edits to johnny damon were correct. if you look, after he left the yankees he had one your stints with detroit, tampa and cleveland. so how did me saying that he made a mistake and never had a steady home again need to be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.66.64.225 (talk) 22:28, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- Here is an example of one of your edits. I think your edits and the reversions by myself and other patrollers speak for themselves. Thank you. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 22:35, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
yes that edit was bad and i didnt mean to save it but my other edits were accurate and still got removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.66.64.225 (talk) 22:42, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Kii Corporation
Why would you add the "Don't delete this new article just yet" banner to Kii Corporation, and then immediately nominate it for deletion when I remove it? If you disagreed with my removal of the banner, that's a pretty pointy way to show it. Gigs (talk) 06:11, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- I just noticed your talk page posts. I thought you knew all along that the creator had a COI. That's why I added the COI banner. Gigs (talk) 15:09, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Nope, I got suckered in. I was extremely disappointed (as you can tell) about how the creator of that article abused my trust. That article needs to be taken down, and you have my complete support. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 19:23, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- I removed your posts about his actual identity, per WP:OUTING. I don't know if we can get the article deleted at this point. The best bet may be to edit it so that it is not as promotional. Gigs (talk) 20:25, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. I don't know if the posts actually fell into the outing category, but better safe than sorry as they say. I really appreciate it. I tried to find something to balance the piece out, but all I could find was (literally) hundreds of pages of HYPE, just the same stuff over and over, on blog after blog, press release after press release, all the same exact article. I am at a loss about what to do with this article. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 20:31, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

I've back-stopped your work and warned the IP editor again. If it happens much more, it might warrant stronger action. If you agree, and take any, please feel free to notify me if you want assistance. David in DC (talk) 12:43, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
A bit of context. David in DC (talk) 12:55, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oh Thank you very much! Looking at the IP editor's talk page, he or she certainly appears to be very problematic. I think you did some great work in guiding him. Let me know if you need anything from me. --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 19:33, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, what a nice feeling to wake up to a barnstar. Thank you. Even more gratifying than that is the fact that you've chosen to give wider circulation to the Bertrand Russell and Jimbo quotes. When you wake up to one of those "You have a new message on your talk page" alerts, your anxiety level can rise. Or at least mine can, and usually does. Instead of an aggravation, you've given me a boost this morning. Actually, a couple of boosts.
- Thanks. David in DC (talk) 11:51, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- You are very welcome! When I saw the quotes, I couldn't resist :) --Sue Rangell[citation needed] 23:00, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
