Butlins Wikipedia page

[edit]

Hi Stuart,

I am the PR and Social Media manager here at Butlins and I was hoping we could have a quick chat about the recent changes we tried to make on the page.

I understand that you're trying to keep the page non-commercial and non-corporate, so I wanted to see if we could come to a compromise and if you could tell me what you would be happy for us to change the opening line to.

The reason we're looking to change the opening line (and that line only) is because when you search in Google for Butlins, our Wikipedia entry appears with the search, which is great. However, we don't feel that the language used in the entry is entirely accurate to where we are as a business now. We no longer use the word 'camps' and we want to ensure that when people read the page they're getting a true and accurate idea of what Butlins is. We know how important our heritage and history is and we don't want to forget that, however we need to make sure that we're seen as a modern business who's adapting to holidaymakers of today so we can ensure that we're around in another 78 years.

I hope that helps to explain why we want to change the opening line and I'd really appreciate it if you could email me with your thoughts at james.silverstone@bourne-leisure.co.uk so we can talk about this.

I look forward to hearing from you,
