[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Sub-Aqua Association. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Nja247 (talk • contribs) 22:11, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.
This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.
You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.
Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. Kurt Shaped Box (talk) 01:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- Just to be helpful, the reason that this username isn't appropriate for wikipedia is that accounts are for individual editors, not the entire club and the name mustn't suggest otherwise. I hope you haven't been put off by Kurt's block on the name. I expect that he doesn't really mean to imply that the block is because you added a link to your club (he will understand WP:BITE), but because you need a better name. I'd strongly suggest you try something like StourportDiver and have a look at these for lots of things you can contribute to. You shouldn't re-insert the link to SoS Divers, because even though SAA is a supraorganization, it wouldn't be sensible to list the websites of all of the individual clubs within SAA. I hope you do continue to contribute despite this less-than-happy start as I do get lonely in here sometimes. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 04:00, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
