Help me

[edit]

Hello, I am sorry to be so useless but I want to add a name to the list of recipients of the Military Cross. My grandfather Major Frank Bullivant RA was awarded the Military Cross in Normandy in July 1944 supporting the Canadian Light Infantry at Buron. He was then awarded a bar to his military cross in 1945 for frequent acts of bravery and leadership in France and Belgium. I have copies of his recommendations from the national archives. How can I make this addition? I have on several occasions...

Please help me with... Stonetribe (talk) 03:57, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The only edit like that I can see is one where you attempted to add a name to a Category page. That was not the right way to go about it at all and it was promptly undone.
In order for your grandfather's name to appear in the category, there would need to be a full-fledged Wikipedia page about him. Have you looked into doing that? It's not really recommended that you contribute pages about your relatives (there are other places on the internet where that would be welcomed, but not here), but it is allowed for you to create a draft about him and submit it for review at articles for creation. I think you'll need some documentation beyond pulling items from the national archives. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 04:16, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
