October 2024
[edit]Please do not edit war to restore your preferred version after it has been removed, which you did at Mark Carney. Per WP:ONUS, those (in this case you) who wish to restore deleted content must seek consensus on the article's talk page. Please self-revert and take it to Talk:Mark Carney ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk) 16:54, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- @GhostOfDanGurney: I'm sorry, no edit war was started. The onus appears to be on you because the original editor and I outnumber you. If you want to delete then the place to do it is on the talk page. Stickhandler (talk) 16:58, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- WP:ONUS very clearly says otherwise. Also WP:BLP is working against you here. If you don't self-revert I will escalate this. We must get BLP articles right. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk) 17:00, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- @GhostOfDanGurney: the text with which you have a problem existed on wikipedia for several years. It was placed there by another editor, not me. Now you come along and delete it because you just noticed it and it ruffled your feathers. It is well sourced and an overseas editor from a major news publisher felt it worthy of notice. It puzzles me that you would feel entitled to escalate anything, while the consensus appears to be 2:1 against you. Stickhandler (talk) 17:11, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- You moved it into its own paragraph, thus giving it greatly undue WP:WEIGHT. Please make sure you understand how WP:WEIGHT works before continuing.
- Before, it was buried in the "personal life" section, hence why it was easily missed, but I would still argue that it's undue. The article doesn't even focus on any controversy, so this sourcing, even if it is Toronto Star, is dubious. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk) 17:19, 12 October 2024 (UTC)

Ok I agree with you here. I'm happy to lend it lesser weight than it received as a three-equals subhead. My point was that it was misplaced in his "personal life" section. Maybe it belongs in his "Governor of the Bank of England" section as an unremarkable sentence. Honestly it is so slight as to escape notice, but since another editor thought it deserved mention, I said why not. Stickhandler (talk) 17:28, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- You continue to try to edit-war this material in. Please find consensus on the article talk page before attempting to reinsert it. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 18:23, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- That's odd @NatGertler: where did I edit war? I don't think you can characterize any edit of mine that way. I invite you to try to substantiate your claims. Stickhandler (talk) 00:44, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- Here you are, reinserting the same problematic content that you had inserted earlier in the day... material on which discussion had been opened on the article talk page with no response there from you, much less consensus. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 01:29, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- By my count, you "reverses or undoes the actions of other editors" three times in just over an hour. This means you not only were edit warring but came close to a bright line violation and doing this to restore disputed material on a living person without consensus and without you ever touching the talk page. I suggest if you're going to continue to edit here you quickly learn what edit warring is and the care required for BLP or you're likely to end up blocked. Nil Einne (talk) 06:23, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- As I mentioned on the article talk page, I didn't notice before now this was over two different things. However it doesn't matter since in both cases you are trying to add disputed material in a BLP and as our edit warring page says "reverses or undoes the actions of other editors, in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material". Yes "A series of consecutively saved reverting edits by one user, with no intervening edits by another user, counts as one revert" but I already checked this before my earlier comment and your three reverts had intervening edits. I was on a mobile device so didn't bother to add diffs but can now Can. This edit [1] was clearly a revert as you acknowledged in your edit summary "restore deleted content". You're undoing/restoring content that another editor removed/deleted so it's a revert. Next [2] you used undo for this one so again clearly a revert. Finally [3], you're again restoring the material like you did in your first edit. Making changes doesn't mean it's not a revert, per the "in whole or in part" definition of a revert. United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1001 (ES-I) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1001 (ES-I), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
