September 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm JMHamo. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ryan Shotton, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. JMHamo (talk) 07:43, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Shotton[edit]

Please provide me with a reliable source that gives Shotton's new squad number. JMHamo (talk) 08:04, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Shotton[edit]

I am Stewart Frodsham, Wigan Atheltic webmaster, a club official. Ryan Shotton's squad number is 4. Where did you get No. 2 from?Stewski1973 (talk) 08:08, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and it's good to have club officials willing to correct inaccurate information. What you probably don't realise about Wikipedia is that all information is supposed to be verifiable from a reliable published source. So next time we get something wrong, please would you include a link to the place on the club website, official Twitter feed, or other published source where the correct info can be found. You don't have to put the link in the actual WP article, putting it in the edit summary (the bit on your edit to Mr Shotton's page where you wrote "wrong squad number amended") would be fine. Thanks, Struway2 (talk) 13:11, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps you would enlighten me with the source of the wrong Squad No. then?
It didn't have one. Someone guessed, or made it up. That's why the other editor removed that one as well. If you check out the times of the edits, they removed your version at 08.43 and then two minutes later, when they realised they'd gone back to another unsourced version, they removed that one as well, leaving the squad number blank, at 08.45. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:12, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
