User:North8000 would you kindly comment on this revised page. You reviewed it with the comment that it read too much like a resume. Since deletion I have edited it, removing the bulletted list of positions, and look at the awards and accolades, finding them of little value to someone not involved in the same subfield of technology, I removed them.
Can you recommend other changes?
When I am satisfied, should I publish it, or submit it for review?
Thank you
- Happy to take a look. I can do a better job of answering your other question after I do that. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 21:44, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
North8000 took a look as requested
[edit]IMO there are 3-4 places which have resume/advertising type choices of words. If you'd like I'd fix the ones where I'm able to and discuss the ones where I'd need your help to do so.
I don't remember the details of what happened to the article before, but survival of the article relates more to wp:notability than how well the article is done. Although doing the article poorly or well with respect to that and avoiding a promotional look can also influence any decision there.
How WP:notability works is complicated and fuzzy. My best attempt at explaining the confusing areas is at WP:How Wikipedia notability works. With respect to this article, what would put it fundamentally on solid ground is having two independent sources that cover him in depth. Right now IMO in this area you have one independent source that covers him in depth, the Sorbini article. IMO the most important thing that you should do to assure the survival article is find and incorporate a second independent source that covers him in depth.
Responding to your question
[edit]First, as starting point info: regardless, when the article is put into article space it will get reviewed by new page patrol.
While there are less structured ways to get feedback (such as you/we are doing right now) your structural choices once you feel that it is ready is either to put it directly into article space or else submit it at WP:afc which a slower and "safer" route. Everyone is different regarding their goals and priorities. If it was me, I'd concentrate on looking for that additional source that I noted and incorporating it into the article, and then get more feedback from me here and then go directly into article space. But that's just me; I can't say what is right for you. North8000 (talk) 12:07, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
