License tagging for Image:Binky blue.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Binky blue.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:04, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Usamexicanborder2.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Usamexicanborder.jpg. The copy called Image:Usamexicanborder.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 06:15, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bible stories.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bible stories.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:58, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[edit]

I am afraid to inform you that your request for Rollbacking rights on Wikipedia was unsuccessful. I did not decline it as I am not a Administrator. It was declined by the Administrator Pedro. My apologies. The reason given was "Not done I appreciate your tenure on WP but rollback is a powerful tool and I'd prefer to see a lot more recent activity specificaly using WP:UNDO as a tool" Best Regards From,
Limideen 11:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I have rollback but rarely use it. Why? Because it doesn't let me add a meaningful edit summary. Instead, I find the last good version and open it, edit it, and save it and put in a useful edit summary then, if I have time, put a warning on the user talk page. It's a bit slower but more thorough. Rollback doesn't give you any more rights, it just makes it easier to screw up faster. It's the difference between a hand drill and a power drill when drilling wood or sheet-rock: You can work a lot faster, but you can do a lot more damage by mistake before you realize you goofed and it's a lot harder to use finesse when finesse is required. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 14:51, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jehovah's Witnesses project

[edit]

I have started a discussion regarding the content wikipedia has regarding the Jehovah's Witnesses at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Jehovah's Witnesses#Comments regarding template and project. Seeing that you are listed as a member of that project, I would appreciate any responses to the material there you would like to make. Thank you. John Carter (talk) 14:53, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jehovah's Witnesses Project participants

[edit]

Hi. I have reviewed the list of participants at Wikipedia:WikiProject Jehovah's Witnesses, and noted that your previous username, Justinpauloberg is included. Because the username is no longer in use, I have moved it to the (new) inactive users section. There is no need to take any action, but if you would like to make others aware that you are still involved with the Project, please add your new username to the list of active participants. Thanks.--Jeffro77 (talk) 04:09, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
