You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stephen Meade, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. TheLongTone (talk) 19:02, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Additional advice?[edit]

Thank you for your help TheLongTone. We've just submitted a "Request for Undeletion", asking that this page be undeleted and moved to the user space, so that we can make the proper edits and add our third-party sources to fit Wikipedia's standards. We fully believe that "Stephen Meade", as an encyclopedic topic, is completely notable, and may be useful for scholars in business or technology. Stephen Meade has founded a number of successful technology-based companies that impact our everyday actions, including My WetRock (an environmental focused company that creates water-efficient products for consumers), Cenoplex (a wireless audio advertising platform and insertion engine), MonetaPro (a web-based software application for global trading), RONAStar (an enterprise solution which empowers large corporation to save money), VirtualSellers (a precursor to PayPal developed by Stephen in 1996), and many others.

TheLongTone, Do you have any specific advice as to what changes we should make for our article to be approved?

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, StephenMeade33, this account name is an impersonation of a living person, Stephen Meade - something we do not permit; this account is also seemingly being used by two or more persons - again, something we do not permit; and is being used to advertise and promote Stephen Meade: even more offensive than the other two.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Hello, StephenMeade33. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Stephen Meade, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.--Orange Mike | Talk 00:50, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Stephen Meade. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Orange Mike | Talk 00:50, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for undeletion[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is Stephen Meade. JohnCD (talk) 11:43, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Appealing Block & Changing username[edit]

Thank you, Orange Mike and JohnCD for your critical responses, and for the helpful links/guidelines.

I request a change in username. I am the only person using this account, and am not Stephen Meade himself. I am simply passionate about environmental technology. I understand that I am NOT prohibited from editing about the subject, and invoke this right. I now also understand the need of using reliable sources in editing and adopting a neutral point of view so as not to create a conflict of interest. I will make sure to adhere to these policies.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

No longer necessary, as I now have a better grasp of Wikipedia's policies. I will now avoid linking to external sites related directly to organizations in an article, and will link to only reliable, neutral third party sources. I do not intend to spam Wikipedia with links, nor do I intend to advertise Stephen Meade's speaking engagements. I will remove these immediately-- Your team deleted my article before I really had the chance to work with it further. The first/deleted article was really a draft, and a way for me to organize existing information and practice editing before releasing to the public. I will of course be writing original material for the actual article, and will make sure to "exercise great caution" to write the article for a neutral point of view. I again argue that Stephen Meade's business philosophy and work is notable for scholars and people in business, technology, and the environment.

Decline reason:

Stated intent is to continue spamming the project with information about a wholly non-encyclopedic individual. Even the phrase "my article" shows you do not grasp key aspects of this project. There's no compelling reason to unblock (✉→BWilkins←✎) 09:22, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I request to be unblocked.
