Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Stepa! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 198 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Marek Biliński - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Suspicious interwikis in the Polish wikipedia
[edit]I just noticed that pl:Kategoria:Związki chlorowcopochodne interwikis to Category:Organochlorides, however there are many bromine compounds listed there. Google translator does not help, because it renders "Związki chlorowcopochodne" as "Halogenated compounds"; in this case, the interwiki should be Category:Organohalides or Category:Halogen compounds. Albmont (talk) 16:59, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- I think I know what happened. Just after you created the category, an well-intentioned but misinformed user saw the "chlorowcopochodne" and misinterpreted "chlorowce" for "chlor", instead of the correct "halogeny" - a reasonable error. Later, the robots replicated this error in all interwikis, so now we have a chaotic situation where everybody misinterwiki the corresponding Chlorine organic compounds category to Polish's Halogen organic compounds category (see, for example, pt:Categoria:Organoclorados)! I don't think there's a simple way to fix this except by creating the "Związki chloorganiczne" (did I guess it correctly?) category. Albmont (talk) 13:00, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Stepa. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Stepa~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
