god vs. God
[edit]Might as well use my own talk page to talk about my user page, right? I thought some people, if anyone ever reads it, would be offended that I did not capitalize the word 'god' or even, non-theistically, wonder why, after pledging to address typos, I allowed one on my own page. I just wanted to note that even though it looks like it, I am not using 'god' as a proper name but rather a regular noun, hence the small initial letter.
If I were using it as a proper name, attempting to indicate a particular deity, I would have capitalized it. However, I am attempting to embrace the reality of several instances of a deity worldwide; therefore, I am using a lower case 'god' to symbolize the existence of several while not being particular to any.[1]
As well, English grows through inspired usage. Consequently, I allow myself to create new usage or even new words, when necessary. Above, non-theistically, is new but accurate and appropriate.
I love English :)

Thanks for your note
[edit]My wife is a great Stephen Fry fan. I bought her an alarm clock with 24 different messages in his voice. VERY funny! All the best Bashereyre (talk) 09:04, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Criticism of the Catholic Church does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.
The edit summary appears in:
- User contributions

- New pages list and
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Elizium23 (talk) 15:41, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
Help on New Font
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I have been reading some peoples fixes to the typographical issues with the change over. I have used the gadget but I am not always signed in. My un-signed-in font is unreadable to me. I have a similar issue to many people ('f' bold, bad pixelation & kerning) that was fixed when they deleted the Libertine font. I have checked my font files and do not have that font. My question is: is there anywhere that has been set up to provide suggested 'fixes' for the different issues that are arising that we could try one by one? Thank you.
- There may be some ideas at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Font_size_and_style - I suspect they won't work for anon. Ronhjones (Talk) 22:22, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- You probably can set default fonts in your browser, but that may affect all websites, not just Wikipedia. Other than that, I don't think any of the standard fixes will work for un-signed-in editors. The Village Pump linked by Rohjones is the most likely place to find ideas on-wiki on how to circumvent the new layout. Huon (talk) 10:45, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
