Disambiguation link notification for February 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Vellar River (Northern Tamil Nadu), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Belur. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Bargur taluk moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Bargur taluk, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Fort Ross, Nunavut
[edit]Please don't change coordinates when they are sourced as at Fort Ross. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 01:44, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
@CambridgeBayWeather: Hi! I think my change was fair, but I totally understand your undoing of the edit. When I started editing the article, I think I used source 4 in the current revision (website), to source the post's elevation, and as a rationale for leaving in the coordinates which were already there when I started editing (the geospatial data extraction tool is pretty much the CGNDB but you can't get the outlines, instead being able to hover the cursor over places to get exact coordinates, which I don't consider original research, I think). I understand the source wasn't right next to the coordinates when you edited the article to tidy it up (thank you, by the way), and understand why you then added the CGNDB as a source for the coordinates it just straight up gives you. But it's just not accurate because Fort Ross is not where the CGNDB says it is, because if we're to believe it then Fort Ross would be underwater. The website even says "In some instances the feature boundary may not align with the base map due to the scale and datum at which the feature was collected," so it knows the boundary/outline element isn't 100% accurate. So that's why I changed it from the coordinates you put, and readded the seconds measure to have the coordinates be roughly in between the two buildings. I hope this makes sense and is acceptable. I'm going to make another edit on the page to reflect what I've said here, but we can keep discussing. <3 Starkenborgher (talk) 02:32, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- No problem. Probably best to change the source in the {{coord}} to reflect that. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 02:46, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
