However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. - Hi Donald, I'm Dan Daley, a Bradford County, FL resident and docent adding history about our community to Wikipedia before it is lost (since our records are not easy to locate). I do not represent any organization. Thanks. StarkeDCD (talk) 14:17, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- That's fine. Thanks for clarifying that. Part of my focus has been on the history of Alachua County. Please do remember that anything in Wikipedia has to be verifiable from reliable sources, so Wikipedia is not the place to record information that has not already been published in reliable sources. It can sometimes be frustrating finding reliable sources for local history, but "there is no deadline" for Wikipedia, and it is better to leave something out until you can find a reliable source for it. - Donald Albury 16:42, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Of course. Many of our current resources are hidden in old news articles from our paper of record, the Bradford Telegraph, or Gainesville media. It has been a process locating them but exciting to find them as I have. StarkeDCD (talk) 18:36, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
