Request reason:
unfair block by Alkivar based on claims of "willful" WP:BLP violation and image copyvios
Decline reason:
You need to stop violating copyright and reverting to BLP violating versions of articles. Can you do that?? Burntsauce 20:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
If the block is based on my trying to improve the Brian Adias article, I do know that the events in Adias' career happened (including his list of championship wins), it's just a matter of trying to find the corresponding articles elsewhere online to confirm what appeared in the article (which is sometimes not easy to do) to include as references. I had not intended for this to end up turning into an edit war (as some might perceive it), and I apologize if that's the case here.
As for the image copyvio claims, isn't one of the expressed intents of Wikipedia to improve the site through the inclusion of photos in the articles? By having the photos for particular articles removed, that just goes against that intent and deals a reverse to the improvement of Wikipedia. I'd also like to be able to better explain why the photos/images belong in the articles they appear in.
One more thing - where does this supposed "ton" of copyvios come from? Starbuck-2 03:09, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, since I can't actually contact the administrators due to my block, I'll say my piece here.
- I don't mean to intentionally violate either copyright through the inclusion of photos which may have questions about fair use in certain articles, or WP:BLP regarding articles of notable living persons. I'd like to be able to contribute to and improve Wikipedia through proper means, by following its user guidelines and by dealing with disputes over certain articles (civilly, of course) on the articles' talk pages.
- So, yes, I can and will endeavor to avoid problematic editing in the future and follow Wikipedia's guidelines. Starbuck-2 10:41, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:Saanlogo.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Saanlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I can't put a fair use template in place now because I've been blocked from editing. Starbuck-2 04:11, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Baywatch
Hey great work on Neely from Baywatch -it would be superb if you develop all the character articles in this way - I stubbed Shauni and Hobie earlier ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 17:31, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

I have tagged Image:Rankin-bass-1975.PNG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. MER-C 10:47, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
