I've semi-protected it, and I'll add it to my watchlist to keep an eye on it. Cheers, –Juliancolton | Talk 01:33, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

You're invited...
New York City Meetup
|
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, establish a membership process for the chapter, review the upcoming Wiki-Conference New York 2009 (planned for ~100 people at NYU this summer) and future projects like Wikipedia at the Library, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the March meeting's minutes).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.
To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

2nd opinion, admin and non (crossposting)
Star and Malleus: Can you look over the section on my talkpage called User talk:Keeper76#User page deletions? Am I totally in left field on this one? I haven't "adminned" in a few months, was clearing CSD (a no brainer), and now this otterathome guy is insisting that I'm a complete idiot and about to crash Wikipedia. Your opinion, regardless of whatever it is, will not result in a block of your account :-) Keeper | 76 17:43, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Holy hell, your talk page blew up my watchlist. I missed that. Checkimg in, will respond there. StarM 23:38, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah. Keeper has a few days off from RL, decides to jump right in adminning to break the rust off the ol' buttons, realizes he hasn't done adimininning for 6 months, decides to clear CSD, an easy way to jump in. Did some U1s, user requests. Easy ones. The little section on my talkpage? That's the shizzle I got in response to my efforts at quietly wasting some free time with easy admin work. Turns out, I've stepped in a holy war/crusade/sockpuppet/wikistalking messhole. Go Keeper! Keeper | 76 23:45, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Like I said, process wonkery. Seen the history of my talk? I stepped in a shit storm of my own - well actually DGG and I did and what an ensuing mess over some bad speedies. Oy. Some people invest way too much dress in this hell hole of a website. I wish I had the patience or dedication. How's all in Keeper world? Frozen tundra thawing out? StarM 23:47, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Status of links to YouTube Videos
I noticed that you rm some links to YouTube Video on the basis of copyright infringement. e.g. David Meerman Scott I can see why the video itself would be a problem, but can you point me to a ruling about why a link to a video is a problem? Thanks! Woz2 (talk) 19:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Don't worry! I found it! http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links/YouTube Woz2 (talk) 19:51, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, that's a good reference. Believe there may be another, will have a look for it. Feel free to let me know ifyou have any other questions StarM 00:18, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
DeMatha
Hi. Did you add a WP:PROD to DeMatha High School? I'm not sure why this page merited to be deleted as it is notable. MDfoo (talk) 14:19, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Never mind. I think I was pointed to you by mistake. If the above does not apply to you, feel free to delete it. MDfoo (talk) 14:59, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, I deleted the redirect at DeMatha Catholic High School once the target was deleted since we don't keep re-directs to non-existent articles. Not sure why or by whom the targer was deleted. StarM 00:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- The target page was deleted because a PROD was added to the page, and it was entered with a date that was nearly 7 days old see here. Can the redirect page be restored too? Also, shouldn't there be way to prevent editors from adding their own date in a PROD? MDfoo (talk) 02:10, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's IP vandalism. Sadly no magic word to make it all stop because there are good IP contributions. I don't know if there's any way to force an date on a PROD, as I don't understand templates much. Redirect restored. StarM 02:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I suppose so. Its a pretty devious edit that took some time to fix. Thanks for restoring the redirect. MDfoo (talk) 02:34, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- No worries StarM 01:34, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

RfA Thanks
Thank you for participating in my recent RfA, which was unable pass with a final tally of (45/39/9). I plan on addressing the concerns raised and working to improve in the next several months. Hopefully, if/when I have another RfA I will win your support. Special thanks go to MBisanz, GT5162, and MC10 for nominating me. Thanks again, -download ׀ sign! 01:32, 13 May 2009 (UTC) |

Stupid yankees. Keeper | 76 03:01, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Stupid yankees times 2. Hope you enjoyed the afternoon. Curious what a "real" yank fan thinks of a-rod. Nice "bottom of the 11th" superhero bit, but as soon as he launched that one, my brain went "the juice did that, not the man". He is tainted to me. I think most of the HGH/etc stuff is blown out of proportion, personally, but when I see Mauer and Morneau knock one to the seats, its refreshing and pure. When I see A-rod due it, it's tainted. Sigh. Keeper | 76 04:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ditto. Sorry SM, but I'm gonna have to agree with Keeper on this one. The same exact thing went into my head when I saw that home run. And this Joba dude is starting to get me nervous. Does he have to waltz around the infield each time he strikes out a batter? --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:43, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi both. I agree, anything A-Rod is tainted. I do believe he isn't using them _now_ for the simple reason that if he was, he'd have tested positive alongside Manny, etc. I'm tired of the pomp and drama. OK, he's hitting when it matters not when it's 8-1 ie last year, but he's also hitting .143 because he's not doing anything but HRs. For all the jibber jabber about how Manny isn't going to the hall (which I don't believe - it's at *least* 7 years before he's eligible and a lot of this will be blwon over by then), what about the others/ I think they need to release all ~100 names on the list to really clean baseball. Honestly though, there are about ten people in MLB who it would truly surprise me if used steroids - Jeter being one, Morneau another. I remember watching him jack ones in Rochester. He treats every park like it's a little league park. He and Mauer scare me, hate facing them as much as Jason Bey/Youkilis because you never know what they're going to hit - all around hitters. Giambi, A-Rod, Teixeira, Swish.... Sure HRs are pretty but what about the other ABs? Don't get me wrong, I love watching the HRs but I'd rather a .300+ hitter with fewer HRs than .240 and 40 HRs. That's where I sometimes am puzzled by A-Rod because steroids can't give you the eyes/timing to hit for average -- but they can make you have the random power ala McGwire, Giambi, etc. I love Joba, always have, he's settling down. Watching AJ burnett is a puzzle, I can't get my head around him as a Yankee. Oh and Keep, didn't see this when I left your message -- should it be x3 now? Don't worry, not going tomorrow. Brew, you can root for the Yanks next weekend and I'll root for you -we;ve got Philly and you have the Sox. StarM 01:22, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Bah x3, and Bah x4. (DVR, remember?) 4 losses by a total of 5 runs. Stupid yankees. Glad that was our only trip to the bronx this year. Keeper | 76 13:49, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Utterly and totally befuddled by MLB scheduling. We went to KC the second series and then won't see them again until the last week of the season. Toronto was just before the Twinkies and then not again until July - and they're our division. Both good games, well played. I think your hero closer needs some support. Georgian museums
Hi Cari! Wanna help me get these onto wikipedia? Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:30, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
hello
This is JCN284. You deleted the page i created. I'm new at this and I'm confused on why it was deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JCN284 (talk • contribs) 05:03, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- I deleted your band's page because there's no evidence of notability. Please do not continue to re-create the article under different titles. You need to read the requirements, especially WP:MUSIC and possibly create the article in your own space as main space versions will simply be deleted. StarM 05:04, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Would the Article pass if i found references for the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JCN284 (talk • contribs) 05:08, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- If these references were from reliable sources, it might pass WP:MUSIC. I suggest creating a draft in your own userpsace, perhaps at User:JCN284/sandbox before creating it in the main space so you can work on references, etc. StarM 05:11, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Will this be deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JCN284 (talk • contribs) 05:15, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not if you're working on it in your own WP:USERSPACE, however it cannot remain there indefinitely if you're not working to improve it. StarM 05:17, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
What do you mean by that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JCN284 (talk • contribs) 05:20, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- You need to work on the article, identify and add sources, if they exist. If they don't, the article will be deleted because Wikipedia is not a free Webhost. StarM 05:22, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
BackCountry CO
Re: BackCountry Co, why do you feel this is advertising? It is an article regarding the dedicated open space in a community with regerences back to the County that it is in.}} Renaebomb (talk) 20:20, 25 May 2009 (UTC)renaebomb
Regarding the speedy deletion of the article based on advertising, I request a re-evaluation. This article is based on a considerable section of dedicated open space in Douglas County Colorado. I had inserted the references to the Douglas County web site which confirms the notability of the BackCountry Wilderness Area. Did I just name the article wrong? Is there a way to change that? Please advise! This is a beautiful and well-used outdoor venue in the southern part of the Denver metro area that is for use by the general public as well as the residents who live in the area, and is notable and should be shared with the community. Thank you for your consideration 97.118.168.160 (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2009 (UTC)renaebomb
- The article was clearly advertising the website. Should be shared with the community sounds a lot like advertising without any evidence that the geographical location is in any way WP:NOTABLE. You need reliable secondary sources, i.e. not the organization's own website, to provide notability. If you like, I'll userfy the article for you so that you can work on it on your own userspace to establish notability StarM 21:09, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
The only references I was able to get into the article, before deletion, were the websites from Douglas County, not any organization website, which is a reliable secondary source. Perhaps I didn't get the references in the article correctly? Also, I will add the geographic location? I would appreciate being able to work on this at greater length in my userspace. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.118.168.160 (talk) 22:52, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's now located here: User:Renaebomb/BackCountry CO for you to work on. Please let me know if you have any questions and see the other info I left on your talk. StarM 23:37, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Hello, I have added some geographic location information for Backcountry, being situated in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and added a reference link. There are also two reference links into the Douglas County site referencing the area and uses for Backcountry - it is like a park/nature area. The article is information about the parks within, the nature trails, and the ecosystem of the park. Can this now be unblocked? Do you have any other recommendations? Thank you for youer help. 97.118.168.160 (talk) 21:58, 27 May 2009 (UTC)renaebomb
- Hi, thanks for your patience. I do not feel it meets the relevant guidelines but have listed it here for community discussion. You're welcome to participate. I will be offline for the next few days but happy to discuss further with you when I return. StarM 03:26, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
