Not A Matter Of Consideration.

[edit]

I respect the rule of not biting the newcomers, but I have to say that I don't think you can do this. User talk pages are not meant as chat pages. A talk page is to discuss how to improve Wikipedia overall. If, however, you are using the talk page to discuss how to improve Wikipedia, that's fine; but if you are using to talk about non-Wikipedia related issues...it's likely that other users will tell you to stop. I have no idea what "Dansguardian" is, but you don't have to "get around it" by using Wikipedia as a place to talk. There are always library computers or other computers you can use to check your E-mail or talk. In fact, if you're all friends at a high school, why don't you talk to each other there, at home, or some other place where you can meet in person, as opposed to talking online? As I said though, if you're using the talk pages to discuss how to improve Wikipedia, by all means, do that. Acalamari 23:29, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't cause any trouble. You were simply unaware of the talk page guidelines. Please don't leave these accounts alone though, if you can do some constructive edits with them, that would be great. Don't be discouraged from editing Wikipedia over this. As for signing, just click on four tildes button. If you look carefully when editing you'll see the button. Acalamari 16:38, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you are copyright holder, not someone else, of these pictures, then I think you can upload them. I've never uploaded any images to Wikipedia before, so I have little experience with pictures on Wikipedia. Just be aware that if you upload the picture, I believe it becomes public domain. • In response to your E-mail, the only way you can upload papers to Wikipedia would be to have them as a GIF, JPG, or some other picture file. It would have to be an image of the papers. Acalamari 19:04, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, do not upload your papers for review. Wikipedia is not designed for this, and your papers will most likely be deleted because they do not belong. --Chris Griswold () 03:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could one of you (who I know are watching my site) please contact --Chris Griswold and ask him why I have been blocked?Stanler 17:12, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Using a wiki as a chat site

[edit]

While Wikipedia is not to be used as a chat site, there is nothing wrong with using one of the many free wiki hosting services available. Just search google for free wiki hosting and you will see many websites that give you wiki space, just like Wikipedia, that you can use for your own purposes. HighInBC (Need help? I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. WP:NOT

[edit]

Wikipedia is not anything you seem to want it to be: "Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files...Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site...Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information."

Do not upload text or other files for any reason other than the betterment of Wikipedia. They will be deleted. --Chris Griswold () 20:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will fix it, hold on a second. HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 17:22, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me why you and User:Nextbigpaint are both coming from the same IP, and why he has edited your userpage? Is this someone you know, or is it another account of yours? HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 17:27, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2 possibilities
  1. It's either bcause he is siting next to me, or
  2. It's bcause we are both at the school.

If it is not one of these then I do not have a clue. He is a different user. He is a friend of mine, Thats why he has edited my page.Stanler 17:31, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are editing from school? HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 17:32, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We have several classes that alow us extra time. I have been using that time on Wikipedia trying to figure out what I can and cannot do.Stanler 17:38, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Which is it, you have no clue, or it is a friend of yours? HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 17:35, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He has edited because he is a friend of mine. As for the IP. if it is not one the above rasons then I do not know.Stanler 17:39, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will lift the autoblock effecting you. HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 17:42, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
