Culture articles

You recently created the articles Culture of Kazakhstan and Culture of Afghanistan, but only with markers saying the articles will exist. Now, I certainly want those articles to exist (indeed, I put up the requests). But that kind of article tends to be deleted on sight by certain admins, citing either nonsense or no context. If you are intending to create those articles yourself, there's no need for such a marker. If you're not actually writing the articles, it's actually better to leave them uncreated, as they'll be more likely to be written by others when they see a red link then a blue one. Speedy deletion

While it may be the legitimate topic, if a user is banned, there is no reason to waste time for filtering his contributions good/bad. He was a huisance vandal for quite some time. Primitive Irish

It would have been nice if you had asked what other people thought before moving Primitive Irish to Proto-Irish. The prefix Proto- with language names generally means that the language is reconstructed, not attested. But Primitive Irish is in fact attested in a few inscriptions, as the article says. It's true that there's no such thing as a "primitive language" in one definition of "primitive", but in this case Primitive Irish is the best known name for the language of the inscriptions. --Angr/_{tɔk tə mi} 21:10, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

Please do not move pages without reading over their talk pages first. There has been a cosiderable debate over the title of AIDS conspiracy theories, and no consensus formed over a page change. If you have determined that the move is either likely to be uncontroversial, or you've discussed it and a consensus is formed, then it's OIK to amke the move. Aftre a page move it is the responsibility oif the mover to correct double-redirects. I deleted Tropical Depression Five. For one thing, it's a horribly imprecise name; for another, it breaks the standards we've established for the hurricane seasons over two years. We never have an article on a TD. Ever. Unless it happened to be some mindblowingly amazing TD that killed eight thousand people, and in that case it would probably be given a name for the hell of it. We keep everything in the season article until such time as an individual named storm warrants its own article. Cindy did not; Dennis did. I noticed that you moved Template:Infobox Legislation to Template:Infobox AU Legislation. While I do not necessarily have a problem with a move, since many legal systems do not use Royal Assent, for example, I note that you did not discuss the move first. You have now broken several pages, which point to the wrong template. It is customary practice to correct links when you move a page. Luckily there are few articles, and I can change them myself. List of political epithets

Hi there Revolucion. I have tried to insert a compromise wording on the 'National Socialists' section - the list seems to have a lot of edit wars going on, and I don't think your purpose would be best served by deleting sections, even if they are ridiculous, as it will give people reason to block your contributions. That said, the anon user who reverted you has a history of adding/removing material to fit a right-wing POV and disparage socialists/liberals (who s/he believes are the same thing). I personally think that whole page pretty much stinks - it's mostly a collection of terms coined by otherwise-illiterate right-wing bloggers in order to add some variety to their interchangeable rants about single mothers on welfare. WikiProject Anti-war

From your user page and edit history I thought you might be interested in joining the new wikiproject; WikiProject Anti-war. As a left-wing socialist you no doubt know that anti-war movments and ideas have had a massive influence on world politics esspecially since the launch of the "war on terror" and the global reaction to it. Events like the Febuary 15th biggest ever global day of demo's are historic in and of themselves and well deserving of more attention then they currently recive on wikipedia. I used Big Mistake! in keeping with the tone of the show. I also put it in primarily to make the piece much more readable because it is a lengthy point by point tracking of what happened and for that reason I would like it to survive.

Also, parading around shirtless and clearly a body builder is an apt description of Eric. I'm not so committed to this, but there may be some disagreement about your not thinking he is hunky or maybe its sexist to say so.

Flag of Mississippi images

I am sorry to inform you that Image:Us-ms!01.gif and Image:Us-ms-61.gif will have to be deleted. The reason for their deletion is that the website they came off of, Flags of the World, does not allow for their images to be used for commercial purposes. That was one of the few discussions that was according to the purpose of the discussion page, namely, to discuss development of the main wiki page. Discussion about the likelihood of getting into Greek names is speculation. Discussion about how to present Greek names on the wiki page is not.

Help on Jacksoville article

I really appreciate the work you've help do to the Jacksonville article. Perhaps you could put it on the list of those you've helped on your user page. Anyway, you've probably noticed I'm helping out, too; this is my first big undertaking and I am grateul for the help. In case you didn't see, I'm getting it peer reviewed. Someone suggested putting the history section in to a seperate article. I basically cut and paste (you can't move sections) the history to the new article with a talk page notice saying so. However, the history in the main article now needs to be summarized. I did the same with Famous natives of Jacksonville, Florida. I'll try to help out, but this needs attention from both of us. In this edit to Ixchel, you removed a mention of a source without any explanation or comment. This is utterly unacceptable; it makes it harder for other editors to identify the source of text, which is critical in understanding how to improve the material. While the citiation was badly formatted and not complete, it was more than what you added. Even if you need to remove it, it is critical that you at least put a edit summary like "removed badly formatted source citation" - so people can tell what you are doing. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

Dora Track

Well I'm not the one that's going to delete it; I just noticed it and since I agree Dora needs a track I thought I'd mention it to you. You can take a look at User:Jdorje/Tracks which has lots of tracks...but probably not a good one for Dora yet. Sometime in the next few weeks I will upload a track image for every Atlantic hurricane we have an article for...and sometime after that I hope to upload a track image for *every* hurricane to use in the season files. However for hurricane articles I think it's much better to have a picture in the infobox rather than the track...so the track can go into the storm history section...as I have done with Hurricane Mitch and numerous other storm articles. So if you can find another PD Dora image that would be awesome (and of course Dora isn't the only storm that needs an image). Jdorje 06:42, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Featured articles in other language

Hi, while Template:FAOL was on tfd, you suggested that this template should be at babel-style to be less space-consuming. I've started a conversation with User:Silence and we agreed that we create 3 levels

1. Non-featured article that nonetheless has lots of content that would benefit our article
2. Featured article with at least a little content that would benefit our article
3. Featured article that has lots of content that would benefit our article

I would like to see your opinon about that, so we could imlement the new design. I've created a test page here. Another thing, do you think that we should write a template for each language in this language (like Babel templates), or we should keep it all in English? Thank you. February 15, 2003 anti-war protest, an article which is part of the WikiProject Anti-war of which you are listed as a member, has been recently rated A-class by the Version 1.0 Editorial team (see here) This means that it is considered to be of good quality. The Anti-war project has yet to achieve a featured article but with a little pushing I feel we could get this article up to FA standards. James Connolly : Irish Socialist and Nationalist

I see you changed the description of James Connolly from Irish Nationalist to Irish Socialist. I think you should have changed it to Nationalist and socialist. Remember he was very much involved in the fight for Home Rule - he certainly wanted to see a Socialist Ireland, but there was a strong element of nationalism too. Few of the men he died with in Easter 1916 were strong socialists like him, so it is obvious that he was willing to ally himself with others on the side of Irish nationalism, as well as socialism.
