Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Städel Museum", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:52, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm aware that corporate usernames are allowed on de.wp, but I'm afraid that they are not permitted here. I've read your statement here, and see that this account is operated by a team. Again, you can't do that here – our user accounts are strictly for individual use only. If there's more than one of you, then each one will need to create a separate account with a username that represents him or her as an individual. There's no requirement for it to be a real-life name, or for it to identify you as an employee of the museum; however, usernames of the type "Michael at Städel Museum" are permitted if you want to do that.
I can rename this account if you want me to (just ask here on this page), but that would affect all Wikimedia projects and I imagine that you'd rather keep the name you have on de.wp. So your best path is probably to simply create a new account for each one of you. Once you've done that, would you kindly each make a suitable paid-editor disclosure so as to comply with the Wikimedia Terms of Use, and read our advice for editors with a conflict of interest. Thank you!
If you have questions about any of this, do please ask – here is fine! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:07, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website – I have blocked this account. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a change of username of your current account here. The new username must represent only yourself as an individual and comply with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Alexf(talk) 14:53, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
