Ada
[edit]Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. ttonyb1 (talk) 07:00, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm an administrator and I removed the notice. Please see Talk:Ada (food) for further explanation. In general, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and so, information like historical background, cultural significance, that kind of neutral stuff is more appropriate than recipes. Good luck and don't be discouraged. I promise it does get a lot easier around you once you get the hang of things. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 09:43, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you want to see a really good food article, check out Maraba Coffee, which is frankly amazing. Lots of details, history, and a lot of sources. I know it's a little more difficult for smaller items, but if you kind of see what's considered good, I think that'll help. Put a message on my talk page if you need any more help. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 09:50, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]Just a note. Most of the sources you added to Ada (food) are probably not going to pass the standard of being considered reliable sources. In general, blogs and other anonymous sources of information just aren't good enough for use here. Since it's a food item (and decently obscure), I'm not going to mind right now, but don't be surprised if someone else brings it up. Try to see if you can find books (specifically on its usage at temples) or newspapers articles or something of that sort. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 05:47, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
I will try to do the best I can.
I saw an article named Nambiar and again saw another one with some kind of a same name(Nambiar (Ambalavasi/Mizhavu). So I feel it's better to delete one or either merge them into one article.--ssaa 21:41, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Hello, Fellow de-orphaner!
[edit]I noticed you added your name to the list of participants in WikiProject Orphanage. We really appreciate your help! The first things you could do to get started with us are:
- Read the Wikipedia:WikiProject Orphanage page, especially the section marked "Criteria". The page contains a lot of good advice to get you started, as well as the standard procedures we are using to de-orphan articles.
- Look at {{orphan}}, {{do-attempt}}, and {{articleissues}} closely and make sure you know how to use them correctly. (It's not difficult, but it is easy to screw up. Trust me, I have.)
- Keep de-orphaning! Category:Orphaned articles contains all orphaned articles organized by month. Right now we're just trying to keep up with all the new orphans being created, so please start with the current monthly category. Once those are cleared out, we can start working on the backlog in reverse-chronological order.
- Of course, you may have already known all of this, in which case sorry for the spam. Either way, let me know if there's any way I can help you contribute more to the project!

Kerala State Film Awards
[edit]Hi, I would like to thank you for your spendid work on dissociating various award categories. I am particularly happy because I started that article, and was not getting help from anybody to improve it. Btw, while uploading images, be sure about the copyright status. However, we can add a film poster in the namespace of articles on films, with proper rationale provided. Get more info at Wikipedia:WikiProject Films, and I welcome you to be a partcipant of it. Here's for your work:

File source problem with File:Manju-warrier3.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Manju-warrier3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:42, 12 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 16:42, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 30
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Ramya Krishnan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ravichandran (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Awards will be given out for all editors participating in the drive in the form of barnstars at the end of the drive. To add your name in the participants list click here.

deOrphaning script
[edit]Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.
What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.

The article Kerala State Film Award for Best Sound Editor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This list is a duplicate of Kerala State Film Award for Best Sound Recordist. See the official site of Kerala state Public Relations Dept. for reference.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 11:36, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
