There is nothing derogatory about either the term "illegal" (=contrary to current law) or "alien" (="person who is not a citizen"). The article is about legislation, not sociology, and this is is the official terminology; e.g. it's the DREAM act, not the DREIM act. well, that's all fine, and that's your opinion and your sentiments; but your opinion and sentiments don't matter here; if you want to argue for changes on the page, you need to use the appropriate channels. User:Seb az86556 is correct. "Illegal alien" are official terms taken from the language of the Act's text, and it is definitional (an "illegal alien" is someone who is not a citizen who is not legally inside the country), not derogatory. —Lowellian (reply) 14:13, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
