Conflict of interest?

Please read our guideline on conflict of interest. My concern is that Howard Park Wines article is not neutral through your obvious association with that company. I also have concerns reagrding the notability of the company with respect to Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. See WP:CORP and more specifically Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a wine guide. Suggestion

Given that you have a link with Howard Park Wines, suggest that a good exercise would be to expand an article about a botique brewery or distillary instead as they are similar type of business, and probably something your resources at hand already cover. This is one of way expanding your understanding of what really is encyclopaedic and whats not when covering a business. Gnangarra 09:08, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I understand what you are saying, but because of your assocations all I'm suggesting is to contribute to a topic that isnt wine related, because when you have a COI it difficult to get a true perspective on WP:NPOV and WP:NOTABILITY and how it relates to encyclopaedic content. I suggested the brewery/distillary because many of the regional resources your using cover them, in the end you can edit what ever you like there are millions of articles already started and millons more still to be. Maybe Winemaking or Oenology where the subject is something your familiar with but dont have a COI benefit in expanding also the more generic and universal the subject the wider the community you'll be able interact with rather than just a few local sandgropers. Re: under construction - Howard Park. Am aiming for NPOV, the article is free of original research with only direct copy straight from references wording with most from books: international wine encyclopedias/wine atlas. Want to learn how to create a good article this is my starting ground as an area of expertise that can find sources for and am looking into the matter further. Thanks for adding the useful links to policies in question. As the page is under construction there is definite work needed, I was probably a bit thoughtless to even submit anything without reading up enough of the documentation - 3 august 2009 UTS

Howard park is the 3rd largest wine company in Western Australia and the largest 100% family owned. As in the Book of Lists, 2009, WA Business News, page 44.

  • Owned by the publicaly listed company Constellation which is listed in New York, The United states of America.

• 3. – Howard park
  • 100% owned by one family. Is Australian owned and listed as the largest/only family wine dynasty in Western Australia as listed with Australia’s First Families of Wine(AFFW) which houses all the largest family wine dynastys of Australia, to name a small bunch Brown Brothers Milawa Vineyard, De Bortoli Wines, Yalumba, Tahbilk, D'Arenberg, Wynns (wine). Most of which have poor referencing. The main criteria is that the family-owned companies need to have a “landmark wine” in their portfolios, must have the ability to do at least a 20-year vertical tasting, have a history going back a minimum of two generations, ownership of vineyards more than 50 years old, and be paid-up members of the Winemakers Federation of Australia.
