Hi - I saw your request for help at the Teahouse. Have you seen WP:TWA yet? It's a great orientation for the encyclopedia. Also, your multiple additions to Hualapai Mountains are unreferenced. We discourage people from adding personal knowledge or anecdotes without references, since the info can't be verified otherwise. Please see Help:Referencing for beginners. Happy editing! I think what is confusing me the most is using tags for inline citations. The tutorial gives a prompt containing the tag, but I'm having a hard time understanding without seeing it in some kind of context. Spencer-Nägy (talk) 00:37, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reinforing the statement that no information be added unless a reliable source reference is provided at the same time. Personal observations are not allowed. One way to work on content and referencing is to work in your own Sandbox until everything looks good, then copy it over. See Help:Referencing for beginners. Also, look at a place article, such as Mount Whitney, to see how references re embedded in the text. The ref program numbers the refs and shows the ref in the References section. Lastly, a gallery of 4-6 photos may be appropriate, but do not overdo it. See for example Tree frog for the population of a gallery of images copied from Wikimedia Commons. Honestly, I'm feeling overwhelmed, but I'm trying to work through it. At this time, I would like to just undo all the edits I've made, and try again with a better understanding. Ok, I think I got it just about figured out. Here is an example of what I have been able to do so far:

The Hualapai Mountains are a mountain range located in Mohave County, east of Kingman, Arizona. Rising up to 8,417 feet at its highest peak[1], the higher elevations of the Hualapai Mountains support Madrean Sky Island habitats, and are host to a plethora of unique flora and fauna in a wide range of microclimates high above the surrounding Mohave Desert.

The most notable peaks in the Hualapai Mountain Range include:

Wabayuma Peak (7601 ft/2317 m)[5] is located in the souther portion of the range, and is in the boundary of the Wabayuma Wilderness Area consisting of 40,000 acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management Kingman Field Office[6]

I would really like to know if this is meeting standard fully before I submit. Let me know what you think! (Note: there are 3 reference citations which were used from the existing article in this snippet). Still a work in progress, but thought you might appreciate seeing my progress in the learning curve.

References are not required in the Lead (the content before the first section title), but can be placed there. Content in the Lead should be elaborated on in the body of the article, with references required. For example, you have "...the higher elevations of the Hualapai Mountains support Madrean Sky Island habitats, and are host to a plethora of unique flora and fauna in a wide range of microclimates high above the surrounding Mohave Desert." in the lead. If Madrean Sky Islands had better refs, you could borrow those. If content and refs are copied from an existing Wikipedia article (which is allowed), in the Edit summary describe where the content came from. If a ref is to be used more than once, there is a method to do that rather then have each use numbered as a reference. As an example, I did that for your Fact Sheet. This requires giving a reference a name, and then in subsequent uses, the name with a slash before the ">".David notMD (talk) 10:58, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the response, and clearing up the double citation (which was a question I forgot to ask). I've actually reconstructed the entire article over the past 16 hours or so, just making sure I understand how to properly edit here. I'm not sure if I should just post it, and see what the response is, or if there is a preferred way of doing things. I don't think it's a bad overhaul, by any means, but I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I practically shredded the original article. Spencer-Nägy (talk) 00:43, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, now I'm aware of how to better format my citations, so will require a little more work there, and, there are two empty sections which I added simply to remind me that I want to write something on those subjects next, and lastly, the remaining bits of the original article, i feel, still need reformatting or removal, but I've tried to leave something recognizable behind.
