Help request

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you put a help request on the user page of user:Ged_UK. In future, please only use {{helpme}} on your own talk page (here). When you post on user talk pages, you don't need to put {{helpme}} - they will get the message.

Cheers! --  Chzz  ►  21:51, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Need help with my article fantasybaseballarbitration.com I need to know what the 3rd party resourse guideline is reguarding my article, not clear if admin wants a 3rd party quote included or if admin wanst another person to write the article. I am Confused and need clarification and examples.(Spdevry4 (talk) 22:50, 27 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Of course we would love you to write the article! A definition of what a Third-Party Source is can be found at Wikipedia:No original research#Primary, secondary and tertiary sources and I think that should provide the answer to your question. This is in order to make sure that the facts that are presented on Wikipedia are properly documented. Valley2city 23:39, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Valley2city Thank you I redid the article and hope this time it does not get deleted. Your help was very useful and I appreciate it.

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Spdevry4. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started.

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us here, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • I suggest that you try to improve a few articles first, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

About your assignment

[edit]

Hello. Noticed that you were writing for an assignment, and I just wanted to try and point you in the right direction. The article on the fantasy sports website you wrote reads like a promotional piece, and that is not really acceptable on Wikipedia. If you are interested though, the main Fantasy sport article could do with some sprucing up. Check out Google books or Google news for an example of the types of sources that are citable here. For help with citations, see WP:CIT which gives an overview. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me. Spidern 17:30, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
