Votestacking at Mega Society deletion review

Hi, I moved your comment to the end of the deletion review to preserve chronological order, as I believe the guidlelines specify. Cheers --Michael C. Price talk 10:15, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

What's wrong with 'Spartak' then? Noisy | Talk 23:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm too much of a spaz to sucessfully register spartak so I went for the first fall back name. How did you find me? --Spartaz 23:14, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Gegenschein, of course. Noisy | Talk 23:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Doh! Of course. ;) --Spartaz 05:41, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

blp

Hi...please note that you should add the blp tag to an article's talk page, not to the article itself. Thanks. Bearcat 01:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Oh! Thanks for the heads up. What tag should I add to the main page? --Spartaz 07:33, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

help me out

hi, I was wondering how you knew that ΚΩΣΤΑΣ ΤΟΥΡΝΑΣ already exsists on another wikipedia project. A google search didn't get any wikipedia hits in the top 10 for me. I marked it as notenglish and posted it for translation since I didn't know. I often have the question of it an article should me marked with notenglish or db-notenglish. Jon513 18:12, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't - I misread what the template means. I'll remove the speedy tag since I have clearly added it incorrectly. --Spartaz 18:14, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Nice catch on the copyvio for ΚΩΣΤΑΣ ΤΟΥΡΝΑΣ. It's been deleted. — ERcheck (talk) 18:32, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Notability

Thanks for your tips on notability

very welcome - please feel free to ask if there is anything else I can help with. Good luck.

Request

Hey, when you post in WP:AIV, could you possibly use the standard format outlined in the commented out section? It really simplifies our blocking of users. Thanks for your good work. alphaChimp laudare 23:19, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Also, Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! alphaChimp laudare 23:20, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry - I was about to head to bed (GMT+1 here). Tried to do it too quick! --Spartaz 23:21, 18 August 2006 (UTC) That includes sigs as well (doh!)
No worries, that's what I'm here for =). Have a good sleep. alphaChimp laudare 23:23, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

John Leslie

Please can you explain why adding Abi Titmus to John Leslie's article is vandalism?--Spartaz 07:42, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Inadvertant I'm afraid. We'd both reverted the same bit of anon vandalism 'Catherine Zeta-' ==> 'Aled' and the other rubbish. When I did it I failed to note you'd already done it and that you'd added Ms Titmuss at the same tine; hence its removal. Best wishes Saga City 10:13, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
fair enough. --Spartaz 14

Iranian footballers

Please don't mark the Iranian footballers articles such as Abolfazl Hajizadeh for deletion. Professionals footballers are regarded as notable. See WP:BIO. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 15:37, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

see the section immediately below this one. Confused. Me? --Spartaz 15:45, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Iranian footballers

Ta for the offer of help! I'm doing them as a job lot on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abolfazl Hajizadeh (all the AfD notices should point there).

I'm going to ask for deletion - I'm only going this way as DRV in the past has said that playing in a major league is notability in itself (which I think is nonsense, personally) and that deleting of non-European players is indicative of systemic bias (which is also probably nonsense but stings!).

I'll finish the nomination in a minute or two. If there are any more, attach them up to Abolfazl Hajizadeh if you like (just copy and paste the subst AfD notice from Abolfazl Hajizadeh's article).

Cheers! ЯEDVERS 15:38, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I appreciate the explantion as well. Will do. --Spartaz 15:39, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Do me a favour and correct the spelling of "Canadian" while you're at it? Thanks.Michael DoroshTalk 05:35, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Doh! Thanks good catch. --Spartaz 05:41, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

See WP:C. A creative work doesn't need to explicitly assert copyright protection to have it nonetheless. Material needs to be released by its author into the public domain or licensed under the GFDL to be eligible for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to reply, please do so at my talk page, thanks. VoiceOfReason 21:58, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

AWB Aproval

I'm approving you, but your suggested use is not a valid use of AWB. Seriously, it won't work for that. alphaChimp(talk) 23:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. --Spartaz 05:43, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Desg and NPOV issues

I need assistance from the community in explaining NPOV to [Desg]on this page 1

Desg and continued spamming

He is now once again sneaking spam to his downeaststainedglass.com site into the page: 2 I am inexperienced with these procedures, I need help. RogerJ 18:32, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

He now seems to have removed the link.
I don't really see any great harm in him. DESG now seems to be trying to play nicely. I do think the article is turning into something of an instruction manual but I would prefer to see how the article develops before we consider taking a pair of scissors to it. Perhaps you could use the talk page to keep a running list of any editing you are unhappy with and we can revisit the article later and see about reconciling any differences in view. It may also provoke him into discussing any edits you disagree with. --Spartaz 22:03, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Spamming continues 3. He just won't stop. Whether it's a link to a tool he promotes, or a tip page, or his new forum, he has to slip in a link to his commercial sites, despite repeated warnings and blocks. Regarding the content, it is my opinion that he is as wrong as he is opinionated, and much of what he changes is decreasing the quality and objectivity of the article, but I'll be happy working with him if he stops the spamming. I can handle him regarding content. I do need assistance with the spamming. RogerJ 12:06, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
I left a message on the article talk page. I feel that all the linked sites have adverts and Desg's site is better then some. Either let him have his site or remove all the external links. That is only fair. --Spartaz 12:19, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Thankyou!

The Halo's RfA

Dumb question

Kindly answer on my talk page. To create a new page, one must make a request to a stubmaker, right? Wrong? RogerJ 13:08, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Yay! I did it! I even uploaded pictures. I am very excited but I am sure I made some noob mistakes here and there. Please take a look, and let me know if the tone is OK before I make more pages. Drapery glass - Rippled glass - Ring mottle glass - RogerJ 13:41, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your comment. I added 3 more. Fracture glass, Fracture-streamer glass and Streamer glass. It looks like there exists a need for a grozier-breaker plier page. I'll try to prepare one in the next few days, after I've gotten the hang of wikifying the pages I have already made. RogerJ 19:54, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Two images on this page Lead came and copper foil glasswork suddenly are not showing up. Temporary glitch? RogerJ 21:47, 28 September 2006 (UTC) Images are still showing blanks this morning, RogerJ 11:42, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Looks like one or more images have been deleted. You can either redirect or reupload the image.

Edit summaries

Yes I now use edit summaries all the time. I totally agree it helps others you are checking my articles and edits. Thanks for the advice. Hey look at my latest Strážske - looks good with pictures doesn't it. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 14:24, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

It certainly does. Nice images. Thanks for listening. --Spartaz 14:26, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Any passport that is copyrighted by its government should not be in that gallery, which will be most of them. I also believe many are tagged incorrectly. At this point, the United States passports are the only ones I would feel comfortable leaving there as US Gov work is public domain. -Nv8200p talk 16:19, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry I'm so slow getting back to you. I think what you want is WP:ICT which is a listing of all the copy right tags. -Nv8200p talk 13:01, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
