Possible sock

Hi, it is regarding [this ID, which might be a sock considering their first edit(s) [1] [2] was to restore contents that were removed for being (apparently) sock edits (this article). Pinging @Ponyo and JeffSpaceman:. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:50, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the ping. I will say there are some suspicious signs here -- outside of what you note, it seems kind of odd that they would know about WP:RFPP on the day they registered their account and post a request there. Maybe the latter point is somewhat of a stretch, but taken into context with the fact that they restored sock edits does convince me that there is likely sockpuppetry at play here. I'll leave it to Ponyo to assess this situation, just thought I'd drop my two cents. JeffSpaceman (talk) 13:06, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

I've blocked the account. They're editing on the same narrow IPv4 /24 and have overlap on another IPv6 range and have behavioural overlap as well (especially some idiosyncrasies in the edit summaries). -- Ponyo^{bons mots} 17:14, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
