I agree that the user has no experience, but the research paper cited looks interesting. Perhaps we should propose to them that they hand the bot over to a more experienced operator? Unfortunately, as researchers, they're not likely to do so as they don't learn very much thereby and don't have direct control over the process. It's hard to tell new Wikipedians that they just don't know enough about running a bot for us to ascertain that it's harmless and useful. — madman bum and angel 05:04, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
1971 in New Zealand
Hi, would you care to explain which particular bits of 1971 in New Zealand you consider to be unwikified? I'm a bit puzzled, since like its 207 siblings the article is almost entirely links to other content. dramatic 08:25, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- That was an error on my part. Feel free to re move it. Soxred93 has a boring sig 17:53, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Syntax
Hello, just a note, that apparently Template:BRFA doesn't even have an output if you put the wrong parameter in it. Approved is what should have been there which has the output of NEEDS FLAG. As your penance :) I request you facilitate getting the instructions at Template:BRFA coordinated with actual practice. Template:BRFA works better actually than Template:BRFAA (allows for a space in the bot's name), so I'm not sure why there are two. - Taxman Talk 19:04, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I am aware of that mistake. I was in the middle of fixing it, when the bell rang for my next class and I couldn't fix it. Soxred93 has a boring sig 03:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Bot assistance
Thanks for your help in getting those viper categories changed over; doing it by hand would have taken a year. Much obliged. If there's a favour I can return, just let me know. Cheers, Accounting4Taste:talk 05:20, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Disambig page Big Slide Mountain
Shouldn't a disambig page be orphaned? I notice you keep placing an orphan tag on this page. Thanks, Gjs238 (talk) 12:24, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- It should be. The problem is that on pywikipedia, you use the disambig code, which includes {{disambig}}, {{dab}}, etc. If it finds a page with those templates, it skips. However, since that is a miscellaneous template not mentioned by pywikipedia, it added.
Could you please point out where {{Pp-template}} is declared outdated? And I don't see the devs fixing mediazilla:10347 either ∴ AlexSm 22:14, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Nevermind, sorry, I didn't notice that those templates are not protected, so "outdated" means "outdated on that page" ∴ AlexSm 22:19, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Snake redirects
Hi there: Some days ago you were kind enough to help out an editor who had come to me for help with some category changes -- all to do with snake taxonomy. He's asked me to intercede with you again with respect to the following changes:
- Category:Rattlesnakes => Category:Crotalus
- Category:Rattlesnake images => Category:Crotalus images
- Category:Rattlesnakes by common name => Category:Crotalus by common name
- Category:Rattlesnakes by taxonomic synonyms => Category:Crotalus by taxonomic synonyms
- Category:American pit vipers by common name => Category:Crotalinae by common name
- Category:American pit vipers by taxonomic synonyms => Category:Crotalinae by taxonomic synonyms
- Category:Asian pit vipers by common name => Category:Crotalinae by common name
- Category:Asian pit vipers by taxonomic synonyms => Category:Crotalinae by taxonomic synonyms
If this is not something you feel like taking on, just let me know on my talk page and I'll look elsewhere. But thanks for your help with the last set no matter what. Cheers, Accounting4Taste:talk 23:05, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

P.S:Merry Christmas! :)
thank you
There's a lot left to do; New York City Ballet, my great love, has over 400 dances in their rep.
They're in the habit of naming ballets with the title of the music, which certainly adds to the number of redirects.
I'm trying as well to clean up the taxonomy of the dance, and particularly ballet, articles and categories.
Other Wikipedians have noticed that it is -- frankly -- a mess, though not of my making; I'm a newcomer.
I'll be on vacation from January 4th through 24th so there will be three weeks of little Wiki.
Thank you again and seasons greetings! Robert Greer (talk) 19:49, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

19xx's in Place
The bot seems to be tagging articles like 1830 in Mexico as orphan. I'd think they would be expected to be orphans, from the very nature of the page. DGG (talk) 13:24, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- So what pages does it need to skip then? Soxred93 has a boring sig 13:28, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Vermont ad
Hi, I think your ad is cool, but do you think that you can lighten the background for users who can't see dark on dark? Thanks! miranda 04:11, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
