Redirecting pages
[edit]Although pages which contain no information but an internal link ('See [link]) can be useful, Wikipedia has a 'redirect' feature, which is preferred. To write a redirect, type
#REDIRECT [[target]]
where target is the name of the page you are redirecting to; for instance, go to Synthetic oils (which I've corrected) and Synthetic oil will load. (If you want to see the appropriate markup, see http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Synthetic_oils&action=edit). --ais523 08:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Djbabyanne1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Djbabyanne1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Amsoil
[edit]Please don't add dealer links to the Amsoil page. Our policy prohibits commission generating links. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 22:31, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
I have just deleted the Image:FLWINcyp belle85.jpg you have uploaded for the article, because:
- It was protected by copyright (and even had a copyright notice on it); and
- It had a clearly incorrect fair use notice ({{logo}}).
Please don't upload more images infringing on other's copyright; such activities violate copyright laws and Wikipedia policies, and may result in you being blocked from editing Wikipedia. For more detail, see Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ, Wikipedia:Fair use, and Wikipedia:Image use policy. Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 21:08, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
I have marked the article you have created as a copyright violation. Should I ask the administrators of the site if they have allowed you to use their content, or if you are really the copyright holder of the images used and in a position to submit them on Wikipedia as public domain? - Mike Rosoft 21:29, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
I have redirected your page Performing rights organization to the existing Performance rights organisation, and fixed the resulting double redirects. In the future, before creating an article, try to determine wether Wikipedia already has an article on that topic. If the article exists, but you feel users might reasonably be looking for it under a different name, then create a redirect page, by creating a new page with only the text #REDIRECT [[Target page]], and the applicable redirect template from Wikipedia:Template messages/Redirect pages. Thanks, and happy editing! —Swpb talk contribs 05:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Camp La-No-Che
[edit]An article that you created, Camp La-No-Che, has been proposed for deletion, for the following reason:
- Subject may not be significant enough to merit an article, see notability guidelines.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.
You are welcome to improve the article to meet these standards and remove the deletion notice. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion; note that in this case, the article may be discussed further at Articles for deletion. Thank you – Gurch 03:14, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm terribly sorry, but I do not know a thing about the camp that you wrote the article about. My Scouting knowledge is limited to South Florida mainly. Good luck on your article! Watermellonman 12:17, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Cumulus logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Cumulus logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image source problem with Image:Amsoillogo iso1.gif
[edit]This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Amsoillogo iso1.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:48, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on March 2013 Rand Paul Filibuster of CIA Director (US Senate) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 04:33, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited March 2013 Rand Paul Filibuster of CIA Director (US Senate), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Drone (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:13, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
