WikiMedia Commons seems to have extremely rigorous guidelines regarding the upload of copyrighted images. However, whenever it comes to logos, despite them being non-free, there are always workarounds (does not meet the threshold of originality, close enough svg reproduction, fair use waiting to be deleted, etc.) to putting them up. I wanted to upload the logo for the League of Legends World Championships and was constantly denied the upload, mostly because it did not have a valid copyright tag. What's the procedure here? It's a logo, and it also falls under limited noncommercial use.

- Basically you would just Upload the file (here, not on Commons, you may also use the Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard if you wish) and use Template:Non-free logo along with Template:Non-free use rationale logo as your rationales. See Wikipedia:Logos for more detailed information, and if you still require help, you should try Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, as there are a lot of very knowledgeable folks there that are willing to help and answer any questions. -- Ϫ 07:54, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Yes, Commons is restricted to free images only, but the English Wikipedia allows non-free images under fairly tight fair-use conditions, explained at WP:NFCC. Logos are one of the permitted exceptions, and WP:LOGO explains how to use them. You will need to upload the image to Wikipedia, not to Commons, using the Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard.
