Speedy deletion nomination of User:Sohosociety
[edit]A tag has been placed on User:Sohosociety requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 94rain Talk 10:38, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:50, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Sohosociety (block log • active blocks • global blocks • autoblocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))

Decline reason:
- you must agree to avoid creating or directly editing articles related to your organization (requested edits will still be permitted)
- you must agree to abide by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and disclose any paid relationship in accordance with the paid contributor policy
- you must indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future
If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organization, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.
So we know understanding is mutual, please state your understanding/response to each item in your own words.
I'm sorry that this message could not be more favorable. 331dot (talk) 11:32, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Please understand that Wikipedia is not for merely telling about a subject. Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage state about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability(for organization, that is written at WP:ORG). Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization wants to say about itself. If you are just here to tell the world about your organization, you will not be unblocked, and should consider alternative outlets. If you want to be an individual, general Wikipedia contributor and edit about subjects unrelated to your conflict of interest, please proceed as stated above. 331dot (talk) 11:32, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- I'm just trying to put some information up about a charity that we run. You can check our website. If someone else wants to do it that would be great. We then want to mention a building in Soho we are trying to save. I've not used Wikipaedia before. I'm not trying to sell anything. Can I be given an email so I can talk to someone who can help? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sohosociety (talk • contribs)
- Please click "edit" at the very top of the page and not the section header, or click "edit" by the section header for this section so your post is in the correct place.
- What I am telling you is that what you are trying to do is considered promotional and not permitted here. Wikipedia is not for organizations to tell the world about themselves or what they do. You may want to direct your efforts to social media like Facebook, which is meant for organizations to tell the world about themselves and what they do. If your organization gets significant coverage in independent reliable sources, someone else can indeed write about it, but even they can't promote the organization and what it does. I'm sorry. As I said, if you want to be a general contributor and edit about subjects unrelated to your organization, please proceed as stated in the block notice. 331dot (talk) 11:54, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
