(Redirected from User talk:SoftByteLabs)

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:SoftByteLabs, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Electric Wombat (talk) 00:30, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it is not advertising anything! There are other corporations listed on Wikipedia such as https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Vray so why is this one any different??? --SoftByteLabs (talk) 00:35, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "SoftByteLabs", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. —teb728 t c 01:59, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing because the purpose of this account appears to be for advertising or promotion. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by copying the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} and posting it below this notice (replacing "Your reason here ~~~~" with the reason), but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Your username indicates that you are here simply to promote your organization. I've googled it and it is not notable. Other organizations have articles because they satisfy the general notability guidelines for organizations.

Are you interested in helping to build the encyclopedia without adding any content related to your organization? If so, please let me know and I can unblock you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:01, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's only been a couple of days that I'm trying to familiar myself with the guidelines and what to do / how it works. I had no intention to advertise, I thought I was doing the right thing. I'm not even sure if what I'm writing now is how I'm suppose to answer your message! But yes, I want to contribute, eventually, I'll know what I'm doing! I don't even know how to change my user name from SoftByteLabs to mp1010 as I did send that request to have it changed but it still shows SoftByteLabs!

Notice

The article Raylectron has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Was unable to find reliable sources to establish notability, other than this questionably significant mention.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
