Questions

[edit]

Hi! This is Limetolime. Here's my answers to your questions:

  • Images: Be VERY careful with this one; I've been blocked from Wikipedia MANY times because of putting images on Wiki wrongly.
  1. Save the image you want to post to your computer.
  2. Click "Upload file" on the left side of any Wikipedia page, and click the sentence that best describes your image.
  3. Let's say we clicked "It is a cover or other page from a book, DVD, etc." Scroll down, and you will see a bunch of empty lines. On the one that says "Source filename", click the "browse" button and find your image. The destination filename will automatically be there.
  4. Next to Article=, put the name of the article you want to put the image onto. Next to Description=, describethe image your uploading. Next to Source=, put the url (web address) from where you got your image from. Leave Portion= blank. Next to Low_resolution=, put Yes. After Porpose=, put why you added the image to the article. Say "to publicise the film" or "to describe the film". After Replaceability=, put no. leave other_info blank.
  5. Now, you have to find a tag. This can be hard, so pay attention. Click on "help" on the left side of this page. Under "Images and Media" choose "Image copyright tags".
  6. Go to "List of image copyright tags". Click on "All image copyright tags".
  7. Now, let's say I upoladed a DVD cover image. I would go to "Categories", then "cover art", and then right-click copy {{Non-free DVD cover}} and paste it under all of the original text.
  8. Leave "Licensing" the way it is. Click on "upload file".
  9. Now, you have your image on Wikipedia. Now you just have to get it on your article. The easiest way to do this is by pasting [[Image:filename.jpg]] on the page. Limetolime talk to me look what I did! 14:07, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Lists: This one's easy. To make a numbered list, just do this:

#

#

#

Type whatever you want after that symbol, and it will appear as this when you hit "save page":

1.

2.

3.

To make a bulleted list, just do the same thing as a numbered list, but use "*" (The symbol above 8 on your keyboard) in #'s place. Limetolime talk to me look what I did! 14:14, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • User page: Go to my user page: User:Limetolime. Do you like it? Well, for starters, clean up your user page by putting {{userboxtop}} and {{userboxbottom}} on the top and bottom of your list of user boxes. It will be stacked on the right side of your user page and look more cleaner. Are you a member of any Wikiprojects? Putting their project templates on your user page will add a punch of color unto your page. How about a navigation bar? (It's the template at the top of my page). Their useful and you can make them any color you want. I've created one for you here:

Questions (2)

[edit]

An Administrator is a user that is given special privileges when editing articles. These include:

  • The ability to delete/protect articles
  • The ability to delete images
  • The ability to block users

and more. I myself am not an admin, but I have tried before. Most of my comments on the subject were along the lines of "maybe in the future". Do you think I'm ready? Well, it's no easy task. You have to have been on Wikipedia for a good amount of time and know all of the tricks and tips that come along too. If you would like to see my failed request, click here. Sockpuppets

[edit]

Hi Sofia. I was looking at your request for adminship and noticed it has received one vote so far, from User:Silvereclipsehelena08. Silvereclipsehelena08 appears to be an alternative account of yours, simply because their user page was edited by your account [1] and normally editors create their own userpage. It appears that you created an alternative account (known as a sockpuppet in Wikipedia) to support your request for adminship. This violates the sock puppetry policy, which says the following:

Sock puppets may be used to give the impression of more support for a viewpoint than actually exists. Though typically it is the weight of arguments that wins the day, having multiple sock puppets argue with each other can still cause considerable confusion, so don't do that. This includes voting multiple times in any election, or using more than one account in discussions such as Wikipedia:Deletion debates, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, or on talk pages.

I see that you are a new user, so please familiarise yourself with, and follow, the sockpuppetry policy. You have also not completed the request for adminship process correctly, and I feel it would be fair to say it's highly unlikely your request would be successful based on your short time here and lack of policy knowledge (particularly if you're creating sockpuppets). I hope that helps. Somno (talk) 03:49, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Blackish Red Rose.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 18:01, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, it's Me!
