- Hi, I submitted unblock request and I need to be reviewed please. Social magnitude (talk) 12:30, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Your request is open and visible. Only one request is needed, making multiple requests and help me requests is redundant and will not speed the process, which is conducted by volunteers. Please be patient. Place new comments at the bottom. 331dot (talk) 13:02, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Social magnitude
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Social magnitude requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://tax.gov.ae/en/taxes/Vat/vat.topics/what.is.vat.aspx, https://tax.gov.ae/en/emaratax.aspx, and https://tax.gov.ae/en/taxes/corporate.tax/faqs.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. MCE89 (talk) 11:23, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (I have deleted that made the page need speedy deleted, what should I do with notice, should I remove it from the the page I created ?) --Social magnitude (talk) 11:36, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi User:Social magnitude! I'm the one who tagged the page for speedy deletion, and I don't think you have resolved the copyright issue — many of the remaining sections of your user page still seem to have been directly copied from various subpages of tax.gov.ae. Please do not remove the notice from the page yourself (if an administrator or other user thinks that I am mistaken, they will remove the tag), and do not copy text from copyrighted websites elsewhere on Wikipedia in future. MCE89 (talk) 11:42, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, which parts exactly please ? Social magnitude (talk) 11:48, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not going to go through the entire page, but the first paragraph and the dotpoints that follow are taken straight from [1], the next paragraph is copied from the Wikipedia article [2] without attribution, the section on the EmaraTax platform is taken straight from [3], the section on VAT refunds are taken straight from [4] and [5], and so on. Since I tagged it for speedy deletion, you've made some edits that have taken it from a direct copy-paste to very, very close paraphrasing, but this is still a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. In future you need to make sure that you are summarising what the sources say in your own words rather than copy pasting from copyrighted websites directly onto Wikipedia. MCE89 (talk) 12:04, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've rewrite all the sections. what else should I do ? Social magnitude (talk) 13:01, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for rewriting the page! Unfortunately since the entire page is still extremely close paraphrasing of copyrighted websites with none of your own original writing, I don't feel comfortable removing the CSD tag. An administrator will review the tag and may either delete the page or decline my tag depending on whether they feel that the page meets the speedy deletion criteria. My understanding is that they might also decide that the current version of the page is okay to keep, but that the earlier versions that were unambiguously copyright infringement need to be revdelled.
- Can I also ask what the purpose of this page is? Wikipedia discourages hosting text unrelated to the encyclopedia on a user page. Are you planning to submit this as an article draft at WP:AFC? MCE89 (talk) 13:09, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply, the client himself is this entity https://tax.gov.ae/ wants to create a Wiki page for it through the agency, so I can't write a content off-topic. Social magnitude (talk) 13:26, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you for providing that context. In that case you should refer to Wikipedia's policies on conflicts of interest and paid editing. You need to disclose the fact that you are editing for pay on your user page. I'll leave a template message below with some links on Wikipedia's guidelines for paid editing. In any case, you cannot copy copyrighted material onto Wikipedia under any circumstances. You should also familiarise yourself with what Wikipedia is not. MCE89 (talk) 13:38, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, but I don't understand exactly, should I pay or make my account paid?
- I read some of the links but making a Wiki page is a suggestion from our side not a specific task we do to take a fees or something from the client, it is just to strengthen our work, please let me know if we should pay for anything, thanks again Social magnitude (talk) 13:48, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- The fact that the subject of the article is your client means that you are considered to be a paid advocate on Wikipedia, even if you haven't been directly asked by your client to edit Wikipedia. You definitely don't need to pay anything yourself - you just need to disclose that tax.gov.ae is your client on your user page and abide by the rules for paid editors in WP:COI and WP:PAID. MCE89 (talk) 13:53, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Social magnitude. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Social magnitude. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Social magnitude|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MCE89 (talk) 13:38, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:
{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2= apologize, duplication wasn't in purpose, please I need assistance |3 = ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}}
with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.
{{unblock reviewed |1= apologize, duplication wasn't in purpose, please I need assistance |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}
If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here

- You've created several accounts in violation of editing policy, using copyrighted content and treating the encyclopedia as social media or a free webhost for the FTA. It is clear that you are doing this on purpose. You've been told several times that you will not be allowed to edit on behalf of your client. Stop making new accounts, and either explain too us what you'll be doing instead of editing on behalf of the FTA, or expect us to stop listening. Acroterion (talk) 15:30, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
