  1. please create File:Scouts Antártidos Argentinos.svg using http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/archive/4/45/20080723210030!Asociaci%C3%B3n_Diocesana_Scouts_Cat%C3%B3licos_Argentinos_Castrense.png and File:Asociación Diocesana Scouts Católicos Argentinos Castrense.png, substituting the penguin for the crucifix.
I take this to mean an image with the green crucifix on the left and the version of the crucifix with the blue rectangle on the right. Is this correct?
No, combine the two, remove the crucifix entirely, all you want is the green fleur de lis with the banner beneath, and the penguin where the crucifix used to be.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:51, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, so green fleur de lis on the left, penguin on the right? Snubcube (talk) 16:36, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, penguin smack in the middle of the fleur-de-lis. Same fleur-de-lis, no crucifix, penguin there instead.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:20, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you want, I can make a very crude mockup for you.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:56, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That would be helpful. Thanks. Snubcube (talk) 06:08, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll make that when I get home tonight.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 07:49, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done and sent, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 17:19, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded something. How is that? It also requires license info. Presumably this should be copied from those two source images. Is it necessary to cite the old version, too? Snubcube (talk) 02:28, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that's it, that's great! I will fix the licensing.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:25, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Comunidade do Escutismo Lusófono.png→svg
This one is pretty close. The font on the bottom is not quite a match for the original. It is close, and I tweaked it a little to make it fit the original better. The color of the central ring is difficult to determine from the original. File:Comunidade_do_Escutismo_Lusófono.svg
Let me check and come back to this.
One of our members came in and put in the swoosh, can you trim the blank edging away?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:09, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What is blank edging? There is no whitespace border on the image. Snubcube (talk) 09:54, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, the computer I was at, the swoosh didn't show up, there is no blank edging, but can you darken the swoosh to C0C0C0? Thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 00:06, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Darkened swoosh. Snubcube (talk) 08:07, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:10, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. please create File:Belarusian Scout Association Abroad 1947.svg using File:Belarusian Scout Association.svg and File:Belarusian Scout Association Abroad.svg for coloration, and File:IIзьлёт ЗБСЧ.png for pattern. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Pahonia may provide a good horseman.
I drew the lines I could and colorized more or less as File:Belarusian Scout Association.svg. Unfortunately, I cannot tell what that middle bit is supposed to look like, and I can only faintly pick out some of the lines (and likely added a few new lines of my own). The middle part looks very incomplete. Do you a better image showing what that is supposed to be?
Can you upload so I can visualize where you're at thus far?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:50, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is here File:Belarusian Scout Association Abroad 1947.svg. Snubcube (talk) 16:36, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is fantastic thus far! Can you give the fleur-de-lis the same yellow bordering, since you have the border on it? And for the horseman, probably they used easy detailing since it was so small. You can use File:Coat of Arms of Belarus (1991).svg as a mirror image, directly.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:18, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I made the border yellow (uploaded new version), to the extend that it has a border at least. The horse is still a bit of a puzzle to me. The horseman in File:Coat of Arms of Belarus (1991).svg is holding his sword wrong. If I paste him in, his sword will not point straight up. Snubcube (talk) 05:58, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nor is he on the medal, I see what you are seeing, that is the spine on the petal, not his sword, his sword is back behind his head. The upraised spine should also be yellow.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 07:49, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. That is cleaned up. What do you think? Snubcube (talk) 20:27, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Another perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:14, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Scouts of kosovo.jpgFile:Scouts of Kosovo.svg, transparent background, no extra border, put at en:wp, not at Commons, the uploader has it wrong and it will get deleted. --Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 10:43, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded a version. How is that? Snubcube (talk) 20:53, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Third perfect today, jackpot! I put in for a rename request for capitalization.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:23, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have one to send you, please respond to the Commons e-mail I sent you, so I have your e-mail address. Thanks!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:21, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded. I don't like the way the text looks, but unfortunately it doesn't look very good in the original. Maybe rounding off the letters will help. I will try that tomorrow. What should I use for licensing, description, etc.? Snubcube (talk) 07:10, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, this is really good! I have fixed the licensing, don't worry about that. When it is an embroidered patch, you don't need to worry about being so faithful to the original text, as sewing machines can't get that accurate. Any good sans-serif font, in an arc, is okay. You are very faithful to detail! Those should look kind of like mountains, as in File:Wyoming Relief 1.jpg. I think maybe after making thousands of these, the manufacturer got sloppy. Use your instincts with the mountains and the map, here.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:02, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The background should be clear, the slight border removed, and the shape of the center trefoil should be wavy but uniform, like File:World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.svg. Thank you so much!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:07, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This should be everything except for the mountains, which I have not yet redone. Snubcube (talk) 09:49, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, the shape I mean for the center bit with the GS looks like the green shape here File:WikiProject Scouting fleur-de-lis dark.svg. The lower shape should be slightly trapezoid like Wyoming, not a perfect rectangle. The text and black areas are really a dark forest green. It does look much better, though!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 00:13, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. The mountains aren't working out. My attempts at it produce weird looking twigs. The other changes are made. Snubcube (talk) 08:35, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thank you so much! Is it okay if I ask a friend to tackle the mountains later?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:31, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me. Snubcube (talk) 01:59, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:José Martí Pioneer Organization badge.png clean up
How about this File:José_Martí_Pioneer_Organization_badge.svg? Snubcube (talk) 21:33, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect first time out!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:37, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:José Martí Pioneer Organization.png clean up
I uploaded File:José Martí Pioneer Organization logo.svg. What do you think? Snubcube (talk) 21:02, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You so rock, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:41, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Coat of arms of Saint Kitts and Nevis 1983 variant.png make svg of this grey color variant, using File:Coat of arms of Saint Kitts and Nevis 1983.svg as a base template (you just change the colors)--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 00:05, 19 October 2010 (UTC) please do this one next[reply]
This one should be safe on commons, since the sources live there. File:Coat of arms of Saint Kitts and Nevis 1983 variant.svg. Snubcube (talk) 01:44, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, thank you, that's fantastic, just what was needed!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:54, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Magyar Cserkészszövetség 2010.pngFile:Magyar Cserkészszövetség 2010.svg clean up
Draft uploaded. The middle part isn't very detailed, so I have left it out in this draft. Do you have a more detailed image of that part? Snubcube (talk) 02:05, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's the crown from File:Coat of Arms of Hungary.svg--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:21, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, inside the rings should be white, not clear.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 00:55, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is changed - crown and white rings. It is rather unfortunate that the crown is such a massive svg. Snubcube (talk) 01:57, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, it's great! I have no skill with svg, what makes it unfortunate? Hard to handle? Squeeze down to fit?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 02:03, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Slow to work with, slow to render, etc. The file size is about 100 times larger than it otherwise would be because of the crown. I believe wiki actually serves rendered (and likely cached) png's, though, so this would not likely affect user experience any. Snubcube (talk) 05:36, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Assyrian Eagle Scouts of Australia.pngFile:Assyrian Eagle Scouts of Australia.svg and clean up the miscentered artwork using File:FlagofAssyria.svg
I cannot tell what the talons are supposed to look like from the image, but the rest of the png is traced here. (I am not good at drawing, unfortunately.) Also not sure what you want as far as cleaning up the miscentered artwork. File:Assyrian_Eagle_Scouts_of_Australia.svg. Snubcube (talk) 06:45, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I mean the two sides should mirror each other, wings the same height and length, lines in the same area on both sides, symmetry. And use the flag inside the disc.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:49, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 06:17, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:26, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Wales_Girl_Guide.svg Snubcube (talk) 04:35, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is really great, you have a fantastic eye! The black parts should really be golden yellow, it was a bad photo, sorry.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:24, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I moved it to File:Girlguiding Cymru.svg, but please don't upload these to Commons unless I specify to send them there. Most of these are fair use, not free use, and will be deleted from Commons at some point. Here, they are okay.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:40, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I put up a delete request on mediawiki. The wikipedia one just seems to point to the mediawiki one, though, so it looks like I will have to wait until tomorrow to put up a new version on wiki. Sorry about that. As for the golden yellow, how about ffc414? Snubcube (talk) 01:14, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, sorry. I can't see that yellow, but I trust your judgment. Please do the coat of arms above next, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 01:41, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, the commons image is still present, so I cannot upload it on wiki. In the mean time, I have uploaded it with a different name File:Girlguiding_Cymru2.svg. When the commons version is eventually deleted, this one can be renamed. That color seems to be what "golden yellow" is. Are you after something darker than that? Snubcube (talk) 05:31, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Which one is the coat of arms? Snubcube (talk) 05:52, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You already finished the coat of arms. Thank you so much for this! There is a faint white shadow around the gold areas, which you picked up from the pin area. It should not be there, can you remove it?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:39, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is gone. Snubcube (talk) 05:39, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Brilliant, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:27, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Nova-logo.png add flower to new File:Nova logo.svg
Not sure what you wanted it called, so for now it is here: File:Nova_logo_flower.svg. I used the colors from the png file. Snubcube (talk) 06:03, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, can you overwrite it on the existing svg, and use the lighter blue of that file?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:51, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's done. Should I post a delete request on File:Nova_logo_flower.svg? Snubcube (talk) 05:44, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, it will self-delete if it is unused.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:37, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:GEOS 2010.png vectorize
Do you happen to know what those characters on the left are? It would actually be nice if I could copy and paste them as characters into the svg file so they get rendered with a reasonable font. Here is what I have so far without those characters. File:GEOS (language school chain) logo.svg Snubcube (talk) 05:52, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The top 3 are 英会話. But you can cut that box completely off and it's fine.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:53, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Box is gone. Snubcube (talk) 06:00, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:42, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Wolfeboro Pioneers (Mount Diablo Council).pngFile:Wolfeboro Pioneers (Mount Diablo Council).svg
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 03:30, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is amazing, you have a really good eye for detail!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:40, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Homenmen.pngFile:Homenmen.svg
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 17:31, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 00:00, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:South Australia (Scouts Australia).pngFile:South Australia (Scouts Australia).svg
Draft one is up. I don't have any of the purple dots, and the drawing is otherwise somewhat simplified. Snubcube (talk) 04:01, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Purple dots? You have a great eye for detail! You can use File:Flag of South Australia.svg directly for the bird and yellow color. Please add a dark green border, and go for symmetry of both sides with the stars.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 09:50, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks. That bird is very helpful. Snubcube (talk) 01:50, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that's it!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:35, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:First Class (Boy Scouts of America).svg create new File:Boy Scouts of America 1911.svg, trim off bottom rocker
I applied the changes requested on the old file and uploaded at the new location. By trimming off the rocker do you mean removing the banner at the bottom with "be prepared" and the knot attached to it? Snubcube (talk) 02:18, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please, remove everything below the main fleur-de-lis, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:33, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. How about this? Snubcube (talk) 07:15, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect, thank you, and thank you for darkening the blue!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:00, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Sakartvelos Skauturi Modzraobis Organizatsia 2007.svg remove all black except for scroll--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 07:56, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Like that? Snubcube (talk) 07:18, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Again, perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:11, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Far East Council 1950s.pngFile:Far East Council 1950s.svg redraw using File:United States Army, Japan - Shoulder sleeve insignia.svg and File:Shinto torii icon vermillion.svg
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 07:41, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is beautiful! Three quick things- 1) can you brighten the red a bit, it's deeper (FF3800); 2) the letters should be dark blue, not black; 3) there is no inner white disk, the inner red and light blue touch.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:05, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 06:17, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ping-pong! Great job!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:41, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk İzcileri.pngFile:Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk İzcileri.svg redraw using File:Flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.svg as a base--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:37, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 06:35, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is fantastic, better than I had hoped!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Scouting on Saint Helena and Ascension Island.pngFile:Scouting on Saint Helena and Ascension Island.svg and make halves equal--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 16:14, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 20:04, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fantastic, if you are not a professional artist, you should be! I think the weird shape in the middle of the island is a radar dish, please have a look.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 22:57, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. That makes more sense. It looked like a boat on a pyramid with fumes coming out of it. Make no sense. Snubcube (talk) 05:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's it, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:56, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts flag.pngFile:World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts flag.svg redraw using File:World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.svg--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 15:07, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How's that? Snubcube (talk) 19:27, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great! The bottom should be white, not clear.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 23:09, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How about that? Snubcube (talk) 04:58, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:56, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Scouts Polynesiens.pngFile:Scouts Polynesiens.svg reverse red and white, using File:World Scout Emblem inverse.svg
And there is that one. How is it? Snubcube (talk) 20:22, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great! But please invert the white and maroon, make emblem maroon on clear background, and there is a tribal pattern inside the fleur-de-lis.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 23:12, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I made a crude guess at the pattern inside. Unfortunately, it isn't resolved very well. The background is clear, except that the details are added on top in white. (I could also make them transparent, but that would make them very difficult to undo.) Snubcube (talk) 05:33, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 14:56, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Barbados Boy Scouts Association.pngFile:Barbados Boy Scouts Association.svg
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 19:26, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's great, can you do symmetry a little closer? The emblems are usually symmetrical, when not, it is original artist error.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 23:51, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How about that? Snubcube (talk) 05:11, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's it, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:43, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:International Link of Orthodox Christian Scouts.pngFile:International Link of Orthodox Christian Scouts.svg, remove pale blue outer square
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 07:18, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
95% perfect, the typeface should have serifs.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:48, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Now with serif font. Snubcube (talk) 08:21, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Completely perfect, thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 12:24, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:WikiProject Scouting fleur-de-lis dark blue.svg remove extra blank edging
Done. Snubcube (talk) 06:11, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for that!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:15, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
trim away external geegaw as artist's indulgence-should be just central shield, vectorize
How is that? Snubcube (talk) 08:36, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Beautiful! But the inside should be silvery, not transparent--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 12:30, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Now? Snubcube (talk) 06:09, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect, thank you! I need to purge my cache, as sometimes still shows up as transparent.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:17, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I gave it a border, since the background is partially white. Suggestions? Snubcube (talk) 06:09, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect the first time out! Thank you!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:22, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:WikiProject Scouting BSA Eagle knot.svg remove excess blank space
Okay. Snubcube (talk) 07:16, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:18, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:UK Baden-Powell Scouts' Association.pngFile:UK Baden-Powell Scouts' Association.svg and File:Baden-Powell Scouts' Association Rover Scouts.pngFile:Baden-Powell Scouts' Association Rover Scouts.svg redraw and since this is the same organization, the artwork should look closer
How are those? The first one is missing a little bit on the bottom, but the image does not have enough information to do anything about it. Snubcube (talk) 08:05, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The first one is much better than the original, but the center dark area should be less heavy, like http://www.fakenhamlancasterscouts.org.uk/ , and black and yellow only, no red.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 09:02, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think I figured out how they should match. Use the more clearly-separated petals of UK Baden-Powell Scouts' Association.svg, and the upraised sword central design of Baden-Powell Scouts' Association Rover Scouts.svg--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 09:33, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Colors and petals done. The sword is a question. You want me to take the green sword, color it black, and use that instead of the current black sword? Snubcube (talk) 06:34, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Rover one is not showing up for me yet. Yes, I think so on the sword, but please also have a look at http://www.fakenhamlancasterscouts.org.uk/ , maybe just thin down the heavy black, what do you think?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:41, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There are two completely different renderings of it on that page (one on the top banner, one in the HQ Appeal image below). The green sword looks completely different. I will try for lightening it up. Snubcube (talk) 07:07, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The snazzier top one. The bottom looks like the same old crude artwork we started with. Thank you for working on this turkey!--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 07:27, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That looks a little better. Snubcube (talk) 04:14, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I meant just the green clover, also something weird is happening with the lion, let me see if I can find a better svg of him.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:18, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I found someone's start at File:Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.svg, it should be colored like File:Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.png, can you help?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:31, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. I see what is weird about the original lion. Each pixel in the original image was simply converted into a square in the svg. I think that request lies well beyond my skill level. Snubcube (talk) 04:00, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, meanwhile can you separate out the green section alone for me? Thank you for this!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:44, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
File:Ethiopia_Scout_Association2.svg. If you want to leave it up, though, you will need to fix the license. Snubcube (talk) 02:21, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yikes! I don't, what I mean is can you trim away the red from File:Yeitopya Iscaout Mahber Yeljagered Kifle Mekitle.svg on that same file. Just cut away the red, everything inside stays.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:28, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you make it closer to the base File:Scout Association of Japan.png? Also, you can name these directly the new names I redlink, you don't have to pass them through the old name first.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:38, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And make the letters symmetrically spaced. You are a wizard at identical matching! But the manufacturers don't always get so close to the intended artwork, which is why I am asking for these to be vectorized.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:41, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Putting them in the wrong location is simply a matter of not looking at the new location when uploading. This one should be much more like the second version and much more symmetric. Snubcube (talk) 03:50, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, LOL I get it! This is really beautiful, thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 06:59, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Swaziland Boy Scouts Association.svg, using the spears and staff from File:Flag of Swaziland.svg, and change the blue existing crossband to red, and the existing red vertical pointies to blue.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:49, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't follow those instructions. I think we will have to take this one more incrementally. I took the spears and staff and added them to the first svg file (modified in place). Is the blue crossband the two things that look like leaves at the ends of the staff? Snubcube (talk) 05:36, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Very close, nice job! It should be left=short spear, centered=long spear, right=short staff same length as left spear but with feather dangles like you did. What I meant by blue crossband is the horizontal piece that binds the three petals of the fleur-de-lis together.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:50, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Now what? Snubcube (talk) 18:35, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, loads better! Now just the middle petal back to red, but with the sharp pointy bits blue like you have now. That really looks great!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 23:54, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Like that? Snubcube (talk) 03:13, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can use File:Flag of Albania.svg for the center eagle.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:22, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. That helps a lot. Snubcube (talk) 09:20, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's really great! The right and bottom appear slightly clipped, is that just the browser? Also, beneath are the initials Sh. G. S. Sh.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:50, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Generally when text doesn't show up, it is because wiki's conversion from svg to png is dropping it. The solution is to convert the text to a path. I also added about half a pixel of extra white space around the image, which may help with the clipping. Snubcube (talk) 21:41, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Neat, thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 00:25, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Start black-and-white svg of File:State seal of Burma 1948-1974.jpg, some details are sketchy yet, label it {{pd-self}} until finished.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 19:01, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am afraid that is far too complex for me to trace by hand. The best I am going to be able to do on that one is an automatic trace (File:State seal of Burma 1948-1974.svg). The sheer complexity of that trace renders it very difficult to edit in even simple ways, so I don't know that it will do anyone any good. Snubcube (talk) 19:13, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
An uncolored copy of File:State seal of Burma 1974-2008.svg would be about 70% close. The problem then becomes how to finish. Perhaps I should table this one. Sorry for asking you these toughies. Thank you as always for your hard work. Wikipedia always gets better, thanks to folks like you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 23:25, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That svg is almost certainly an automatic trace of the png image it points to. What you really need is a source image of high enough quality that it can simply be traced. Why don't you try to focus on ones that are better resolved? I don't do well with images that are poorly resolved (or very complicated). It is nice to be appreciated. Snubcube (talk) 03:15, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. :( I've been focusing on ones that are in need of improvement, and you really do a great job. I never want to make it tough for you. Let's call this one good!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:53, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This one File:11th World Scout Jamboree.pngFile:11th World Scout Jamboree.svg
I can send you a physical photo, it should look like a bronze shield. I hope I didn't scare you with the recent ones I mailed you.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:56, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is what it looks like using the colors suggested above. Unfortunately, the two bronze colors lack sufficient contrast for the text to be readable, and the blue clashes. Snubcube (talk) 03:29, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, then keep whichever bronze you like better, bring back the black and yellow and see how that looks? :) --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:35, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Or, replace the present dark blue you have (nice job by the way!) with the blue from File:Coat of arms of Greece.svg?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 19:03, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you do the lighting effect from the previous badge? Or does it look bad? Based on the photo, the top text, 1963 and the ΕΛΛΑΣ should use http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Herakles.htm font. And the handholds on the sides should be slightly thicker, per the photo. --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 19:22, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thicker border, black and yellow. Is that heading in the right direction? Snubcube (talk) 03:37, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Splendid! Lighting and text and we're there!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:50, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The text is a bit of an issue. The font you suggested does not have Greek letters. Snubcube (talk) 07:32, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As for lighting, I can do something like that. Unfortunately, I will have to do it over every time anything else in the image changes (including the text). Snubcube (talk) 08:02, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, skip the lighting, it's unnecessary, just a cool idea, and you did a beautiful job! As for the text, I am sorry. Can you treat it like it's not text, but graphic material? Like you already drew the ΕΛΛΑΣ letters at the bottom as part of the badge, not as a text-font. The letters look close to the website font. On the badge photo, for instance, the "th" before "WORLD" are stacked atop each other. I am pretty sure no font would do that, either. Sorry for the lot of work. Maybe we should call it good as is.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:52, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The TH isn't much of a problem. I will see what I can do with the top text. 128.12.238.89 (talk) 08:45, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:20, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Really? It's just a hook to bring people in? Okay, let's call it done.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:23, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much. If you read the license that comes with the fonts, pretty much anything you do with those fonts requires you to pay the guy $10 and/or send him a copy of whatever you created with the fonts. Snubcube (talk) 19:27, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nuts to that guy. You made the badge much better, I am grateful!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 22:22, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect! Can you change the license to {{self|cc-by-3.0}}? This really is your own baby, and after review, I think someone will move it to Commons (but I'd rather let them decide, I get these things wrong sometimes).--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 00:40, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My preference with imagery is for them to be in the public domain. Unfortunately, imagery in creative commons and the documentation license aren't all that usable. The copyleft GPL/LGPL licenses for code work well, though. I found out not long ago that the copyleft image licenses render the artwork largely unusable. Depending on the particular license, if you put such an image in, say, a 5-page handout for whatever you are teaching, you may also be obligated to print out and include a copy of the (rather lengthy) image license document to accompany each of those handouts (in order to notify the students of the rights they have for using the images in your handout!). In the end, the only images from commons I could use were public domain images. Also, if I interpret the license correct, if you send that handout to someone else, they would also be obligated to print out the image license document, too. Snubcube (talk) 00:59, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, then whatever "it's my work" license you choose, just so it has a license giving you credit. It's really good!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 01:00, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. please create File:The Girl Guides Association of the Kingdom of Tonga.svg using crown and colors from File:Tonga branch of The Scout Association.svg, File:WikiProject Scouting trefoil blank.svg
It sounds like you want the first image recolored using the colors from the second image. The first image has three colors, and the second has only two. What did you have in mind? Snubcube (talk) 03:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I sent you a crappy mockup! :) My specialty!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:46, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Now what? Snubcube (talk) 06:54, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Remove the bits of star under the crown, give the crown a black keyline, put the cross down on the crown (think raven) and make the G's smaller and away so the crown doesn't overlap themreduce the crown to 80%.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 13:34, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I say it's perfect, except remove black outside keyline, and Guiné is printed lower than Bissau--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:16, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How is that? Snubcube (talk) 06:25, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great! The ships and crown look off-proportion, you can't make the ships bigger, but you can boost the crown and red area to near half the size of the shield. Can you? Also, slightly darken the keylining on the ships and the crown, thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 09:33, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Girl Guide ones I haven't looked at in a while, so I will have to take a closer look at them. My first impression of them was such that I mostly passed them by. Snubcube (talk) 04:49, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What needs to change? The only real difference I see is that the svg has an extra bit on the ribbon. Snubcube (talk) 07:37, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's it, and change the color of the dangle, one should be gold, a second silver, and actually there's a third bronze one if you can.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:57, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. File:Fiji Girl Guides Association.svg mailed you mockup, put those tribals on the scroll on both sides of the word Fiji, not around the flower as I had modified it.
And I found a good hibiscus, mailed it to you. Good night!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:23, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This one is going to require some iteration. Do I leave the GG and star? For now I just stuck the tribals in horizontally at the bottom. They look terrible there, but I don't know how you want them to be. Vertical (and tiny) on the far edges? Like I have them now, but bent along the shape of the scroll? Snubcube (talk) 08:19, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually that's really good considering the poor material I gave you to work with! Please leave leave the GG, but remove the star, and increase the size of the hibiscus, so maybe you have to roll back the red border in that area. The tribals should be black, like you have them now, but bent along the shape of the scroll. Thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:34, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How about that? Snubcube (talk) 20:47, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
99% there! The tribals should be black, and that's perfect! --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 22:44, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Missed that part. Snubcube (talk) 23:22, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's it, perfect! One more to go, please don't be scared! :)--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:00, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am petrified. Snubcube (talk) 02:24, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Using File:WikiProject Scouting trefoil blank.svg, invert the orange and blue, and change the orange to yellow, please create:

  1. File:British Virgin Islands branch of Girlguiding UK.svg scroll should read BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
Okay. I put it here. I won't be able to upload the same file to the rest of them. Snubcube (talk) 20:59, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Changed name and rationale, fine for Commons, please withdraw deletion nom, at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/File:British_Virgin_Islands_branch_of_Girlguiding_UK.svg#File:British_Virgin_Islands_branch_of_Girlguiding_UK.svg .--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 00:21, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why can't they just let me delete my own files? That would make things so much easier. Snubcube (talk) 02:06, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Because that would make sense, and this isn't the federal government or Halliburton or McDonald's or any of those other places that make sense. ;) --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:42, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
File:British Virgin Islands branch of Girlguiding UK2.svg. Snubcube (talk) 23:41, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's perfect! More when I get home from work, did you see the new giraffe for Tanzania?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 00:30, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure did. Lets use the second one. Snubcube (talk) 08:44, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
LOL I thought you would appreciate that one. But is the SVG okay?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:23, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the svg should be fine. Snubcube (talk) 02:06, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think the Commons issue will be okay.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 08:52, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks that way. :-) Snubcube (talk) 01:38, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. File:Tanzania Girl Guides Association.svg reverse colors mailed you mockup, except ignore that I removed the scroll, make that read "Girl Guides" instead
http://animals.m-y-d-s.com/animal/giraffe/ may help if you're stuck.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 02:15, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am afraid that giraffe image isn't going to be very helpful. There is way too much texture there to autotrace, and it is too complex to trace by hand. Snubcube (talk) 08:32, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I went looking for svgs, do these help? http://www.openclipart.org/detail/100315 http://svg.kyon.pl/img/17045,prev.html --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:40, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is that about right? Snubcube (talk) 02:24, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Really good, really close! From above, please reverse the black and orange on the back emblem-orange border, black interior, make the bottom scroll read "Girl Guides" instead, like the can't-get-deleted Commons image. Remove the G's, love the "creature". :) Thank you so much! That is so good!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:15, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How about that? I put up a version with the old text, too, in case you might want it. Snubcube (talk) 01:37, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
