tagging math articles

User:Parker007 seems to have asked you to tag math articles. How many? He didn't discuss this with the math project as far as I know. CMummert · talk 00:48, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

I've blocked the bot. See User talk:Parker007#Against consensus. Once you've stopped the block just place {{unblock|I've stopped the bot}} or something similar on the bot's talk page. —METS501 (talk) 05:22, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for the mess, and thanks for stopping the bot. BTW, I've been given a list of 2,5K pages, and I found that the remaining list was of around 900 talk pages. Well, now I'll ask for the unblock. Again, sorry for the mess. Snowolf (talk) CON COI - 12:25, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
I am sorry Snowolf. Its all my fault. :(. --Parker007 02:38, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

It was very difficult for me to figure out last night how many articles were being tagged. I want to ask if, in the future, when you are going to run a job tagging more than a few hundred articles, you would make a note of it at User:Snowbot, for example on the talk page. You could just copy the request of whoever askes you to tag the articles. I couldn't easily find the request from Parker007, which made it very hard to see what was going on. CMummert · talk 13:06, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Now, a question about the bot: I see that it can add tags to talk pages. Can it also change fields of tags on talk pages? That is, if I make a list of articles that say

{{maths rating|class=stub|field=|importance=}}

can you change them to say

{{maths rating|class=stub|field=algebra|importance=low}}

using SnowBot? If not, do you know of a bot that can do that? CMummert · talk 13:06, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

See User:Kingbotk/PluginMETS501 (talk) 19:20, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Dear Snowolf, Thank you so much for the NPW approval. --Cyril Thomas 00:17, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

I also want to thank you for the approval. :) -theblueflamingoSquawk 01:18, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

ciao, ho fatto una richiesta per lo status di bot qui, mi dici se è tutto corretto? :) --dario vet (talk) 14:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, i recently deleted a whole title in the 'lahore' article due to good reason. The heading of the title was about the country side, and speficially the meo rajput clan. rajput is a family and meo's are a part of it. the whole content was out of place and mainly contained information about this family, even though the family is neither politicially or economically influenctial in the city. The article was not well written and seemed like a copy past from another wiki page. the link is as follows: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Meo

thanks

Request to remove tags via SnowBot

Per this discussion, I have made a list of articles from which we would like to remove the {{maths rating}} template. Would you mind doing this with SnowBot? CMummert · talk 13:32, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks CMummert · talk 13:55, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
The bot ran successfully, but it skipped 262 articles. If it isn't too much to ask, could you run it again? I updated the list. Thanks again for running the bot. I took care of the rest myself. CMummert · talk 21:52, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
There were only a couple hundred, so I went through them by hand. Many of these were not placed by Snowbow (hence the different tag syntax). I appreciate your help in cleaning up the categories. CMummert · talk 11:31, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

D&C Mediation

Hello Snowolf,

It would appear that other Editors have weighed in on the issue, so perhaps we can move to resolve the matter? Thanks. Ti dave 15:54, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Please Use Edit Summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Snowolf (talk) CON COI - 16:45, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Snowbot

Hi Snowolf,
I was wondering if you could put Snowbot to use to help our project WikiProject Golf. The template {{Wikiproject Golf}} needs to be tagged on all the subcategories within Category:Golf. Probably about half of the articles have already been tagged manually. If you need to know specific categories, just give me a yell on my talk page and i'll compile a list. Thanks Snowolf. Grover 00:18, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick reply Snowolf. Well I haven't talked to my fellow project members about this, but i'm sure they'll be fine about it. I'll give them a few days to reply to my post on the project's talk page and get back to you (although if the reply isn't in the next 2 days i'll be on holidays, in that case i'll get back to you later). Thanks again. Grover 10:52, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Snowolf, I was just wondering if you could give a hand with something, I've requested a bot here which would automatically welcome new users and its awaiting approval, I was wondering if you could give me a hand with the bots code, I Intend to use AWB for it and I'm going to reques approval for Auto wiki broswer so its ready if it gets approved and I was wondering if you could help me put its code together, I could give you more info if you need it, your help would be much appreciated. User category to depopulate

Category:Wikipedian programmers has been renamed per UCFD and it also needs to be depopulated (pages should not be moved to the new category name). I'm pretty sure there are still some users being added by templates, but if you could get snowbot to remove those who aren't, that would make finding the templates easier and would be really helpful. Thanks, VegaDark 09:34, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

VEGF Trap

thanks so much for your message. I contacted the administrator who had deleted. I gave him what I believe are good reasons to understand this was not advertisement. However he did not agree with my reasons, and to avoid spending time on a long procedure, I preferred to accept his deletion. The problem is that this is going to prevent me from adding original articles on drugs not yet on the market, as I will always risk being accused of advertising. And Biotech drugs in development happen to be my specialized area.

Anyhow, I will survive.

All the best

Another task for Snowbot

A UCFD on Category:Fwarn recipients just resulted in delete, however it looks as if the template that added this category to pages was subst'd to over 200 pages, so it needs manual clearing.
