Why have I never heard about balderdash before?
Please, the title is Balderdash!. And you probably have. Remember that sitcom they showed last time they canceled Only Fools and Horses? That was probably Balderdash!.

Where can I see balderdash?
I've said it once and I'll say it again. The title is Balderdash!. It is often shown on Bank Holidays and rainy Sundays, generally on UKTV Gold.

Is balderdash; sorry Balderdash! available on DVD?
Not yet. It is believed that the production company will release an extended edition, along with footage left from the cancellation of 'Aardvark, if you can get it'.

Why isn't this article in the main space?
Because, until the DVD is released around 30^th March, 2006, this article will be factually very incorrect. For example, due to an editing error, the credits were replaced by a vintage episode of Bill and Ben; The Flower Pot Men, so no cast list survives. When the DVD comes out, it is promised that it will include cast. Until then, the article will stay in my user: space.

What would have happened had the series continued?
Had the series continued, as shown in this section (user:Smurrayinchester/Balderdash!#Series), the family would have dodged an escaped aardvark, an escaped serial killer, Soviet troops, a brick, the aardvark again, and nuclear bombs. The plan for the finale was to have a telephone vote, similar to the text voting on such shows as Pop Idol, and the audience would choose which character to kill off. This would then be broadcast from pre-recorded deaths. It is expected that these will be included as special features on the DVD.

What other special features will be on the DVD?
I'm glad you asked. As well as the scenes from 'Aardvark...', pre-recorded deaths and credits as shown above, it will also include audio commentaries by the director, currently known only as Alan Smithee, an optional 'laughter track' (now with 30% more laughs) and the TV trailer.

See wiktionary:balderdash. Basically, it can mean nonsense, a receding hairline or cheap wine. Balderdash! features all three.

Why was the show cancelled? It sounds funny.
The executives at the television stations couldn't handle the show. Plus, the episodes made many jokes about the Cold War. Then the Berlin wall came down and the episodes made no sense anymore.

Was a sequel planned?
As a matter of fact, yes. It is a mystery as to why the sequel, Rubbish! was written before the pilot even aired, but it revolved around Kevin Crimble taking up a job driving a Dustbin Cart to support his new family after his wedding at the end of the first series. It was believed continuity issues such as the end of the Cold War, the fact that he already had a good job, and was widely expected to be killed off at the end of the first series (see above) led the show to be scrapped.
